My local surgery has switched to a 0844 number costing 5ppm.
Name: Park Road Surgery, Camberley, Surrey. Old number-01276. New number: 0844 477 3353.
Any body have an alternative number? :'(

Although http://www.near.co.uk/doctors-camberley/278/ shows 0844 477 3353, the Google search showed 01276 26171 on its title page.

But is that the now defunct old number?

if you ring the geog number you get the message ....this number has been changed to 0844.....

Is there no way of cracking the NEG system? It would be a major breakthrough if we could!!

I'm sure they're devious enough not to record such details as geographical alternatives to their 0844 numbers on their computer systems.

Going from what I've some people have report on here and that is the surgeries themselves don't know (obtained via FoI requests) their geographical alternative so it could be that NEG are the only ones who are aware of this (except for the telco that owns the geographical) so this ensures that NEG make money every time somebody rings a surgery.

I think it's currently useless searching for alternatives if a surgery has moved to an 0844 number provided by NEG.
