Can anyone help please?   I am looking for an alternative to 0845 603 8576.   This is for HMV online ordering customer services.   According to the website the address for returns is: HMV Customer Services, PO Box 15, Guernsey GY1 3AH.  I have searched the databases here, Googled, tried 192.com but nothing shows up except the ngn.   I have an order that I think has gone astray (have never had any problems before) but really resent having to call an 0845 for their error & don't really want to have to wait for a reply to an email.
Any help greatly appreciated.

A search of hmv 01481 reveals:
An entry in the Cable & Wireless Guernsey Telephone Directory here. That is a cached link by Google. A search of the CW Guernsey Directory now reveals nothing for HMV.

The entry is:

Note the 1AA post code which is the main postal sorting office.

Another page on the Guernsey Government website is here. It is a job advertisement for a Loss Prevention Officer at HMW Guernsey Ltd and has a contact phone number:

I've just looked on 192.com and found two entries for HMV at Guernsey. Putting the GY1 3AH reveals nothing, but remember that it is a PO Box, so nobody lives there! Therefore it is worth widening the search to GY1. Indeed, I have located other companies by only searching using the first part of the post code. On of the HMV entries is:

Note that the phone number is the same as the one I quoted above and that the post code looks more genuine. The other entry is a different address with no phone number:

Thanks for your help, Dave.   I will try these & let you know the results.  I didn't even know the dialling code for Guernsey so that in itself is useful.

Remember when calling with BT numbers in the Channel Islands they are NOT included any BT Together calling options - see here.

I think all HMV stores now list 0845 number as opposed to their original geo numbers.  My local store, Newport is now 0845 602 7808, but their geo 01633 255924 still works.  

When answered the AVR offers:
Press 1 for Store opening Hours
Press 2 for Returns Information
Press 3 for Website and digital enquiries
Press 4 To speak to a member of staff
Press 5 to repeat these options.

It might be worth calling your local HMV store (NOT USING THE 0845 of course) and maybe you'll get the same options.  I do know that by pressing 4 to speak to a member of staff does not connect you with the local store, it diverts to a call centre.

01481 749360 is the number for the HMV 'SHOP' in Guernsey - NOT the Internet Warehouse and they are unable to deal with Online order issues...

Thanks for that homerpovey. This number is now verified.

We also have 020 7101 3089 which is a direct number for online customer services.

Just to advise the alternative geographic for HMV customer services - 0845 901 1122 - 020 7467 1109 cuts off when called from a mobile.  I can only therefore assume it's out of service.

I have e-mailed them regarding an issue I have with a purchase, and have asked what they intend to do about providing non-084 numbers for their stores and Customer Service lines.  :-?

The new Head Office number is 020 7432 2000 if thats any help to you CJT-80.  :)

I will admit I didn't call that number but I did e-mail them and mentioned the 084 numbers and got this reply

"Our 084 numbers should charge at local rates (although they may not be included with free minutes/call plan on mobiles). Please check with your service provider for full details. I'm afraid there currently isn't any plans to revert to the 01/02/03 numbers. "

Any suggestions for a response would as always be welcome.  :)

There are two obvious responses:

1. 0845 calls haven't been "local rate" for a long time, see here.

2. As for their "no plans to change the number", if they fail to do so by 13 June 2014 they will be in breach of section 41.

It's not recognised from a BT line so I've removed it and put the reception number, 020 7432 2000, as the main alternative, with a note saying it is such.
