Title: Cost of FOI enquiry responses Post by hertsdisgusted on Dec 14th, 2006 at 9:51pm
Don't know if this is good place to ask, but does anyone know where you can find out how much it costs to respond to FOI enquiries?

I do not understand your question, please expand on your query, do you mean "How much it costs a company to respond to YOUR FoI Request" or "How much does it cost you to make an FoI enquiry"
Thanks Kev |

Apologies. I meant "how much does it cost the public bodies to respond". I just wonder whether there has been any research that estimates how much it costs them to reply, either for individual responses or for all their FOI requests per year.

After looking into it, I noticed in the T's + C's of the Inland Revenue (HMRC) it says if the FOI request is considered chargeable then it will cost £25 per hour.... ;D ;D ;D ;D

Some stuff in the papers about this - gov't claims the average FOI enquiry costs the public sector around £50 to answer.
