Title: T-Mobile Number Porting
Post by Cara_xx on Dec 15th, 2006 at 6:18pm
Does anyone have a geographic number for T mobile number porting (transferring your old number to them)?  They only give 0870 6060139 and then when you phone and have gone through the press 1 for...., 2 for.... twice (!), they tell you that they are only open 9-5:30 Monday to Friday - obviously to get the most money from their premium rate call.  Appalling behaviour.... >:(

~ Edit by Dave: Thread title amended.

Personally, I'd take that as an indication of the service (or lack thereof) I'd be likely to receive if I changed to them - and so I wouldn't.

Just to update - I emailed a complaint to T-mobile via their website and they phoned me and sorted it all out - must be the thing to do where there is only an 0870 number and no alternative can be found - eventually they have to get fed up with all the complaints and give us proper numbers to use!

The guy on the phone did tell me that I could have contacted them by dialling 150 from my mobile which he implied would be free (I'm not sure about this) but they didn't give this information in the instruction booklet so I didn't know about it.

Calling 150 from your T-Mobile handset is indeed free, but only if you are already a Customer!

Didn't you need to port your non-T-Mobile number to them?  In which case 150 may not work from other mobile operators.

You obviously did the right thing using email.  I'm pleased you saved a bob or two  :)
