Can someone help me find a geographical number (as my cost is tallying up) or advise me how I may go about finding it myself.

I don't believe it would be possible to find an alternative number for them as we can really only find them if they have ever used a geographical number (publically) before.  Going by their website, they don't have any geographical numbers and in fact the only numbers are the 0845 used for conference calls.

Also, I personally believe that on this occasion the service they provide is genuine and the little money they make from the 0845 number is used to provide/support the conferencing facilities that you and other people use.

Normally, a company would use these numbers as contact numbers and gain money from the products/services they provide.  In other words, these numbers are used as stealth premium rate numbers.

However, on this occasion I do believe that for them to provide and maintain/support the conference facilities then a payment must be made for which is funded by the 0845 number.

The free conference facilities doesn't involve anykind of fee at all so no money is made by alternate means except via the 0845 number.

The Conference Plus service does involve a fee - a one-off £10 fee for your very own number to distribute to upto 120 other people for your conference facilities.  Although in this instance, a fee is charged it is only done so to provide your own personal number to enable conference facilities and is a one-off payment for life.

To be able to have a conference is going to cost money.  Now I'm by no way an expert in this field but I think that paying a one-off fee and then just call charges on a PAYG type of thing is much, much cheaper than by any other means possible.

Basically, if it were possible to find alternative numbers then this company would make no money at all and as such would go out of business.  This would result in us having to use more expensive methods of having a conference call.

I hope you understand the reasons for this?

many thanks for your reply. I actually assumed that they charge the person that sets the conference call up a premium amount which pays for the service... but having taken a better look @ the website, i see that I was wrong hence agree with your comments.

Can anyone help me on this one - I have inclusive 0845 and 0870 numbers on my package  ;) does anyone know an alternative 0870 or 0845 to 0844 84 84 840????

No and your not likely to find one its the legitimate use of an 0844 number the provision of a conference service .
