Title: TV Licensing PayPoint scheme Post by mjbj on Jan 22nd, 2007 at 11:39pm
TV Licensing do a Paypoint scheme. The number is:
(0845) 155 0404. I may wish to contact them, but I only have a PAYG phone (I don't have a landline). If I dial that number, I will be charged 15p a minute (at any time). Does anybody have a geographic number alternative please, so it won't cost as much? (I am also charged the same rate for the freephone number) |

There's a thread on Paypoint getting the TV Licensing contract here. Another nail in the coffin for the local Post Office. :'(

Hi M8s
My Mother (Pensioner) recieved her Licence this week she is a regular payer (Never missed a payment)used to be at the Post Office now at another shop further down the road what amazed me was the wording at the bottom of the Licence. P.S. Please note you can no longer make payments towards your TV Licence at the Post Office. This is not an excuse to delay payment. Cheers Ron |

Is there an address that may be the location that this number goes to? Are there any other numbers like a fax number? PayPoint's contact page here gives an address and switchboard number: PayPoint plc 1 The Boulevard Shire Park Welwyn Garden City Hertfordshire AL7 1EL Switchboard: 01707 600 300 |

Dave,
Firstly, sorry its taken so long getting back to you. I do agree with you about the Post Office, although I only found out about a month beforehand. The address at the top of my statement is: TV Licensing PO Box 1101 Preston PR2 0BX. At the bottom right-hand corner, it states: "TV Licensing is a trademark used by Revenues Management Services Ltd. Registered Office 33/34 Winckley Square, Preston PR1 3EL Registered in England No. 2404237" In case you were wondering, I do know about the freephone number - (0800) 328 2020 - although I have to go to a payphone or find a landline to use it, and when I do, they tell me I've got through to the wrong department and transfer me. Naturally, I just play dumb (and yes, I do always put 141 in front). Regarding a fax number, I can't see one. The 0845 number is the only number on there. Thanks for your help so far. |

Which is a PO Box, so it doesn't exist as a physical location. But... mjbj wrote on Jan 23rd, 2007 at 4:22pm:
So I assume that, being as it's a Preston address that this is who operates the PO Box. From BT Phone Book: Quote:

The reason I ask if there is a fax or other number like textphone is because it may be a geographical number which (assuming it goes to the same place as the 0845) would therefore give a clue as to where the 0845 calls are answered. So you can try Revenues Management Services or Paypoint. Assuming that it's more a Paypoint enquiry line, then Paypoint is probably your best option. I would ring switchboard and ask for customer services. |
