09 numbers are designated at premium rate numbers and are not 'disguised premium rate' like 084/7 numbers.
The AA RoadWatch line is an 'added value' service and is a legitimate uses of a premium rate number. |

The AA have this month withdrawn their 0870 and 0800 numbers for this service.
You now have to dial 84322 from a mobile or 09003401100 from a landline at a cost of 60 ppm! Does anyone know how to reduce this cost? The service is an excellent way of keeping up to date with traffic problems ahead of you on a journey but, with the preamble/disclaimer lasting about a minute at the start of each call, it has suddenly become VERY expensive. |

Use the 01 number for Trafficmaster. Search the database for trafficmaster and you will find a 01234 that is for the traffic updates, same as the 090 and mobile short code numbers. ;) |

AA Roadwatch has recently launched a new, easy to remember number for its traffic and travel advice line – 84322 or ‘the AA’ on mobile phones - or 0906 88 84322 from a landline. The new service is being provided by Trafficmaster and users can hear information on traffic conditions on motorways and trunk roads and listen to weather forecasts. Customers can also set up journeys where alerts can warn them about traffic problems and have access to eye witness reports when a traffic incident happens, helping to keep the information as current as possible.
Calls will cost 60p per minute across all networks with the exception of O2 which will be charged at 65p per minute. Calls should not last longer than 90 seconds. |

The previous post sounds like AA-sponsored publicity material.

Yes, first time poster repeating what is clearly AA publicity material. I prefer traffic reports on RDS myself. |
