Speaking only for myself, it was not for the want of trying that you did not get a response.

What I did find out was that NHS Professionals only moved to this Watford address in December 2006 therefore there is no previously known geographic number. Although there must be a geographic number underlying the 0845 number I think one would need a mole at NHS Professionals to find it out.

Can anyone help.  I work for NHS Professionals and recently they have introduced a 0845 number for people to call and book shifts which is a rip off.  Their current number to book shifts is 0845 456 5790.  Does anyone know the geographic number for this call center????

I`m looking for an alternative number for 08454565790.There use to be one we use be4 01923637000 but was just blocked  last Monday.
Is there any other alternative number.It`s not easy calling from ur mobile during the day.I will appreciate a quick response because we actually book shifts with this numbers.

I tried your 01923 637000 and found it engaged during office hours, only going unobtainable after 5-30pm.

As usual with a hunt group, it may be one of numerous numbers that are allocated to an 0845 group. Depending on whether anyone is logged in at that station, it gives either an unobtainable or a busy tone.

I also found various other locations for the 0845 4565790 which leads me to think that it is probably a central point which transfers you to the different offices for individual NHS trusts.

I also found these numbers for the NHS Professionals shift request line - 0845 4564650, Fax: 0845 4565723 (alternative 01923 637500) and together with various other fax numbers for different NHS trusts.

That seems to indicate to me that there are quite a few different numbers accessed by this 0845 4565790.

Don't be too concerned that this 0845 number isn't listed. It is often found that one 01/02 number can serve as an alternative for different 0845 numbers. Ultimately, it's a case of suck it and see.

Whatever you try, report back here so others know what you've tried and what you found.

The number I called for the Occupational Health Dept was 01923 690503

I found this in my application pack on the Health Declaration Form.

The numbers mentioned previously in this thread, 0845 456 5790, 0845 4564650 and 0845 606 0345, are all are now not in service.

A call of 01923 637100 has a recording saying that the number has now changed. It says that the new numbers can be found on the NHS Professionals website. It also says that there is a helpline for help in finding the correct 0845 number to call, 01923 637137.

The contact page gives different 0845 numbers that each relate to different areas and different professions.

In order for us to list as many NHS Professionals alternatives as possible, I'll list the 0845 numbers and see if matching 01923 numbers can be found.

I've matched these 0845 numbers with what I believe are their corresponding 01923 numbers (shown in red). They all say that they are closed and don't identify what they are in their recorded messages (apart from Nurses Long Term Placements). However, each does give different opening hours and hence it's simple to match up corresponding 01923 numbers:

• Nurses Long Term Placements 0845 302 7417 01923 637556
  
• Doctors Placements 0845 302 7410 01923 637119/196
  
• A&C Workers/A&C Trusts 0845 450 4642 01923 637078/218

If anyone knows of other NHS Professionals 08xx numbers not listed here, please post them and I will see if I can find an alternative.


For Nurses/Nursing Trusts, each trust has a different 0845 302 xxxx or 0845 450 xxxx number. Unfortunately, they all answer with exactly the same recording (or those I tried do). I have found a load of 01923 637xxx numbers that match that recording. However, as they are all the same there's no way of knowing which is which !!! :(

I think it's fair to say that there won't be a different operator for each trust and that the purpose of the different 0845 numbers (and hence corresponding 01923 numbers) will be so that it will show up on their screen which you are calling about.

Those I found are 199, 200, 202 to 216, 219, 222 to 228, 230 to 240, 242 to 261, 263 to 280, 295, 300 to 304, 400 to 402. As I say, prefix these with 01923 637. If you try any and find out what trust they relate to, let me know and I will add them to the database.


If you don't want to try any of those, then there are others that go straight into a queue/operator. There are far fewer of them, so they are probably queues for all the trusts. Try 01923 637130 /131 /132. You will have to tell them which trust you are calling about as because you bypassed the 0845/01923 number for your trust, they won't know. I hope that makes sense.


Do let us know how it goes, including what you tried. I may list numbers you give feedback for so as to help others with the same query. :)

I am not sure if you realise how it works here. Members of this forum work tirelessly to find telephone numbers for others, we all help each other and the database is only made up of numbers that others have found.

I am unsure as to why those who request (and therefore presumably work for) NHS Professionals want as they have, up to now, all been individuals who usually post little or no information as to what it is they would like help with.

I have put in a considerable amount of time on this one, despite the fact that I have no requirement to NHS Professionals. My findings were posted above for all to see and are linked to from the database. I note that either no one has had need for any NHS Professionals alternative number or that some have had, but chosen not to help the site by posting here, even though they have been helped by the site.

Those numbers were listed in November last year when they were right. The following are comments about those numbers:

All these numbers (above) are now defunct; some being not recognised and some having recordings redirecting to another number.

These above also have the recording on redirecting to the respective 0845 number for your trust.



However, the majority of these 80 or so numbers shown in the quote below still work just fine !!!

Thanks to the visitor who submitted the entry giving the alternative to 0845 450 7811 as 01923 637202. This is one of the 0845 numbers for flexible workers to call for one of the trusts that NHS Professionals provides with workers, as too is the 01923 number.

It would be appreciated any feedback be provided on the alternative numbers by those working for NHS Professionals who try them.


I have done some more work on this and I repeat that I have no first-hand requirement for these numbers. I possess no special qualifications to do this and anyone could have done it. The new alternatives are:

• Doctors placements 0845 302 7410 01923 637195
  
• Admin & Clerical Workers/Trusts 0845 450 4642 01923 637221
  
• Nurses Long Term Placements 0845 302 7417 01923 637447

As I said, there is a different 0845 number for each of the trusts (around 80 of them) that NHS Professionals provides staff to. These are listed on the NHS Professionals contact page. They are all answered with the same IVR (recorded menu), so it's not simple to match them with their respective 01923 numbers. It's a case of suck it and see; I guess that they will deal with work for any trust on any of the 01923 numbers that answer in this way. The agent that takes the call may well be told which trust the caller is ringing about (as a result of the 0845/01923 number they come in on), thus callers will have to state which one they are actually calling about.

The number 01923 637217 is open 06:30 to 22:00, which is the same opening hours as the shift booking lines, so it could be a suitable alternative.
