Title: US numbers Post by lucaltmann on Jan 29th, 2007 at 5:05pm
Does anyone know a good link from the FCC site orotherwise as to how numbers in the US are assigned for the equivalent of 09xx and 087x etc. Couldn't find much myself

See www.nanpa.com Basically all premium rate numbers are in the 9xx code series and are properly disclosed as premium rate numbers paying for the service called. Most sales and customer services numbers in the USA are on an 8xx series Freephone number. Have you by chance heard of Google? A few searches there and a read of the FAQs thread on this site might have answered many of your questions. ::) You sound to me like someone who sells 084/7 numbers or operates a call centre that is on one and is looking for reasons to attempt to defend their existence? |

Consumer protection for premium numbering is very tightly regulated by the FCC in contrast to the cretinous organizations that oversee this "industry" in the UK. |
