Does anyone have the geographical number for 0871 522 2570 its the Ground Fitness for the East Riding FA?

East Riding FA. "East Riding" to me means the East Riding of Yorkshire. And FA means Football Association.

So you're looking for the Ground Fitness gym in the East Riding of Yorkshire Football Association!!??  :-/

I think "Ground Fitness" in this context is a service which can be called to check whether the Local Authority football pitches are fit to be played on, usually for Saturday or Sunday amateur players.  This can prevent a long journey in lousy weather.

For Hull City Council pitches it used to be an 01482 number - at least it was before I hung my muddy boots up many years ago!.

And I suspect you are spot-on re East Riding of Yorkshire.

Yep the number is for the East Riding Football Association, it is a number used for referees and clubs to see whether they should travel out to the match (the groundmen may call the ground unplayable so it saves a journey if the match is cancelled).

The number before this was 01482 600570

However it recently changed to this pay number, so when you ring you just get a message saying "Sorry the number you have called has been changed to 0871 522 2570"

The first thing that I suggest you do is email the management to express your disgust/disdain at their new number. It costs 10p/min from KC, BT and Virgin Media (formally ntl:Telewest) lines. Mobile providers usually charge more. You're talking in the region of 35p/min to 40p/min, so if you're out on the road, depending on the length of the call, it could cost quite a bit. I also suggest that you also inform fellow users of this service about the costs and suggest that they complain too.

I note that the message redirecting to the 0871 number is a network announcement rather than a recording they have put on.

So they think that they can get away with this because it's still cheaper than making a journey that you needn't!!!

I have just Googled the 01482 600570 number and it appears to be a Hull City Council service rather than an East Riding FA one. I cannot find a trace of it on the ERCFA website.  :-/

Not sure whether you should complain to ERCFA or not, although I suppose if you make them aware of the issues, they could contact the council.
