Post by IAVOID0870 on Mar 21st, 2007 at 10:12am
Hello,

I am trying to find the geographical number for:

AHP - Active Health Partners

http://www.ahp.co.uk/

Active Health Partners
First Floor
3 Shortlands
Hammersmith International Centre
London
W6 8DA

At the bottom of their "home" page they want subscribed employees
to call their 08452 30 60 10 number to speak with a nurse.

when you DO call this number, you are greeted with the following automated answering service
for which I would like to try and find out the geographical number which the 0845 diverts to;

Welcome to Active Health Partners

Please select one of the following options

1. to report start of absence from work
2. to report a return to work
3. to update on a current absence
4. other
5. repeat these options

The only information I currently have looking at the website is that the number starts 0208 834 ????

Thanks.

I found that 020 8834 3979 went to an AnsaFone, whereas I got a human response from 020 8834 3980

It would be worth searching around those numbers given for other candidates to the menu options.

The contact page gives a direct number for Gerry Callaghan: 0208 834 3951

Looking back on the Internet Archive http://www.activehp.co.uk/contactUs.htm]here[/url] gives:

Quote:
nurse contact centre: 08452 30 60 10
office phone: 020 8834 1080
office fax: 020 8834 1100

Putting the Shortlands post code (W6 8DA) into Google reveals this page on the Easy Offices site. I presume that this building is 3 Shortlands. Not sure where 1 and 2 and 4, 5, 6 etc are.  :-/

Anyway, it looks to be a large fully serviced office, so neighbouring numbers could belong to other businesses within it.

Dear Sir

As part of the Active Health Partners proposition we provide clients and
their employees with a dedicated 0845 non geographic number, These
numbers as you are well aware are chargeable at local rates from a
standard BT line, whilst there may no longer be a variance on local and
National rates we did opt for the local number range at the launch of
our service 3 years ago.

The business driver behind using non geographic numbers rather that an
exchange DDI is not revenue generation for ourselves; but the fact that
these numbers are portable and can be re-routed very quickly by our own
or the Telco companies technicians, this is particularly important as a
significant amount of literature is produced to publish the number
during launch and longer term employees do become familiar with the
dedicated number we offer.

In our business planning we felt number portability was very important,
as should there be a fault on our local exchange we needed the ability
to quickly re-route the 0845 number to our centre via an alternative
route or to a second disaster recovery centre, in addition should the
business need to relocate out of the local exchange area we needed the
ability to re-route numbers quickly and easily and finally should a
client decide to switch providers we would be in a position to re-direct
the number employees have become familiar with to the new provider,
maintaining service without causing disruption and re-educating
thousands of employees.

Whilst I understand your concerns I hope my letter has helped explained
our thinking behind choice and continued usage of 0845 numbers as well
as our non publication of the associated DDI range which are the
commercial property of the company which I believe do not fall within
the FOI legislation. Should you wish to discuss this further with me I
would be more than happy to arrange a call with you.

What would be the best course of action now?

I was thinking about requesting an "Internal Review" Is this the next CORRECT step ?

Any suggestions as to the wording for this ?

Cheers

There is nothing you can do. You cannot ask for any information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 because it is a private company. FOI only applies to public bodies, government departments, agencies and so on.

Try calling 020 8834 1000, they may be able to put you through or give you the direct number for Active Health Partners. It answers "Business Exchange in Hammersmith Grove".
