Title: 0870 pricing info obligations? Post by digsby on Apr 7th, 2007 at 11:47pm
Hello,
I know companies are not allowed to mislead in advertising and promotional materials, but can anyone tell me whether companies are under an obligation to provide pricing information (ppm) with any advertising of their 0870 numbers? |

Companies do not have to tell customers of the price of calling their 0870 or 0844/0845/0871 numbers. IIRC some lower priced 09 numbers also don't have to have pricing notification. |

The closest to regulation at this moment is just the ASA guidelines on advertising in non-broadcast adverts. Ofcom aren't doing anything really. |

The only time pricing information must be given is for 09 numbers "which do not generally cost more than 50 pence are exempt from all ICSTIS requirements on pricing information" except for certain excemptions. See here for more on this, the ICSTIS Code of Practice 11th Edition.
