I have just received this surprising but very welcome news in the latest edition of the PlusNet Customer Newsletter that in response to customer demand Plusnet will be launching an 01 based customer service number shortly. :o [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]

All the more surprising in view of Plusnet now being owned BT and its product range slowly starting to be changed to resemble that of BT Total Broadband.  Does that mean BT Total Broadband will also be introducing an 01 number for customer support soon? But the last BT Total Broadband leaflet I picked up over Easter at BT's Goonhilly Communications Centre in Cornwall prominently listed an 0870 number for further information about their product. >:( [smiley=thumbdown.gif] [smiley=cry.gif]

Only disappointing bit is them still claiming 0845 is "lo-call rate" when BT itself have long since dropped such claims.  Obviously they recognise it is not though or they would not be launching the 01 GN alternative.

I wonder if I should email Ian Livingston, CEO of BT Retail and champion of GNs pointing out the inconsistency in the 01 contact number position for their Plusnet and BT Total Broadband product offerings. :-/
