Hi.  Does anyone know the 0121 number now for Central Television - formerly 0121 643 9898.  They have changed their number to 0844 881 4000.

Additioanlly, Viewer Enquiries is now on 0844 881 4150.

Can anyone help with this.  They claim it is cheaper than it was before to call them.  In fact it is more expensive.  It may be cheaper than the 0870, but on Talk Talk it describes 0844 as "Premium Rate g6".  One message adviswes the call is the same as a BT Low Call Rate.  The cost of theis call is about 7p per minute.

So, if anyone can help, please can they get in touch.

Just stumbled across 020 11868000 which answers as ITV. I can call it from a BT landline and if you calling from a landline with an 020 number you will still need to dial the 020 code as this is a national dialling only number. That means that the bit following the number starts with a 0 or 1. They are intended not for (or so the story goes) dialling directly and will probably be connected via a non-geographical number.

Interestingly, 020 11868001 goes to someone's personal voicemail and refers to a colleague (Euan Hodgston) on 0844 8818285. I suspect ITV has opted for a whole bank of 0844 numbers charged at 5 p/min at all times from BT, Virgin Media and Talk Talk.

I noticed that the last few digits of those numbers are similar so I called 020 11868285 and got Mr Hodgston's voicemail.

So, for ITV it appears 0844 881xxxx = 020 1186xxxx

Indeed, this works for viewers enquiries on 4150 and Central switchboard on 4000!  ;D

What with all the controversy of premium rate phone ins, it seems everyone's overlooked the potential revenue that will be rolling in from all these 0844 numbers which go direct to staff. Offices for Meridian, Central, Wales and West have these wretched 0844 numbers for main contact.

I was looking for another C&W number. Anyway, I've had a look at other ITV regions and some are now on 0844. ITV West still gives the 0117 Bristol reception on the website, but when you ring it it gives a 0844. ITV Granada's Liverpool office is 0844 but the others aren't. I suspect that they're updating the communications (VoIP) within ITV.

Unfortunately, ITV is one of those companies that has (presumably) updated to the latest technology but has taken a step back with these rip-off numbers. It's not just a case of the public having to call these numbers, but other businesses. We are all paying the price for the stupidity of companies like ITV.  :'(

Does anybody know how I can phone the ITV Duty Office without having to use the 0844 number. There was a number 0201 186 4150 however this no longer works.

Please help with this.

8129 onwards simply says "lines are closed", so no idea what they are in connection with

Perhaps someone can find the alternatives to all those voting premium rate lines.

Now, how on earth did you discover their new prefix? You aren't going to say that you just randomly selected a prefix and hoped for the best :P.

The new prefix for ITV - 0121 160 no longer works. What have ITV changed their geographical number to now? Why does this keep changing?

ITV will have a massive range of different numbers available to them, and as soon as they discover that people know the alternatives (and therefore aren't generating them revenue by using the 0844 numbers) they will switch them to a different range. It will now just be a case of discovering the new range (which I suspect Dave will get on to as he seems very good at this sort of thing :)).
