In December 2005, it was 020 8970 1924 but, as all their other numbers have changed and, now,are in the 020 8207 7860-90 range, I'd suggest trying a few at random in between if that doesn't work.

Go to their web site and you will find loads of geo. numbers. Why not try phoning one of them and asked to be put through to who you want?
http://www.arbiter.co.uk/contact.htm Hope that helps. |

I've joined your thread to the existing one. See the suggestions above and report back on what works and what doesn't. |

thanks DAVE! sherbet is a little condescending and not very helpful, you see i am trying to get tech help for Cubase 4,
which is the number i posted!!! nothing else works, everything is either dead or re=directs you to the number i posted earlier. I did do a search of this web-site also before i posted and it yielded no results, so my lack of faith in humanity and technology is re affirmed. I have sent emails to all the companies involved today and await......and wait for reply. Sites like this ain't widely known, i found it in a small article in WEBUSER. i don't watch t.v much, so if you've been on watchdog or similar shows , i missed it. just like those meetings you all have on life direction and values, i freely admit, i was probably in a waking sleep. Thanx for you help and the initiative to help morons like myself, it's an inspiration. |

Just a stab in the dark, but given music sales is 020 8207 7880, and the last digit of the 0870 is 8, perhaps it is 020 8207 7888?
If that doesn't work, my only other suggestion would be to try all numbers between 7860 and 7900 (excluding the ones mentioned on their contact page) some time after 7ish and see if you can find the number that way. |

On the contrary. The number will not appear out of thin air. Numbers listed on this site are often found by detective work. In the first instance, try published numbers, such as for switchboard. You did not indicate you had tried these and neither had you posted information on what the company's website was and specifically that geographical numbers are published on there. Unless someone can find some information which suggests otherwise (i.e. the service you require is outsourced to another company), I go with what has been suggested; that the 0870 routes through to the office and that the number will therefore be a direct dialling in one, of which the contact page suggests 020 820778xx is likely. |

I'm not sure about your logic, but the 7888 number may well be it. If you refer to how the website's contact page used to look in October 2006 using the Internet Archive, the technical number was 020 8207 7888 (see http://www.arbiter.co.uk/contact.htm]here[/url]). r0NIN48, please let us know whether it works. |
Title: Re: Arbiter UK Support Post by jgxenite on Feb 29th, 2008 at 9:43pm
Well, my logic stemmed from the fact that their "music technology" numbers were in the range 788x. Sometimes companies like to have blocks of 0870s that map directly to corresponding underlying numbers. This hasn't been proved by Arbiter since the only 0870 is the one for support, but I just guessed that the last digit (8) might correspond to 7888 (as proved by Dave - before October 2006 anyway).

I've just tried 7888 now, and while it rings, it doesn't seem to answer (not within the first 10 seconds anyway). My guess is that while the 0870 possibly maps to the 0870 number, the 0870 number also acts as the "our help desk is now closed" number when the office isn't open.
According to this page, you'll have to wait until Monday to confirm whether or not the number is correct. |
