Title: Lancashire Ambulance Trust

I sent the following today

I had to make a call to you today and was told I had to use an 0870 number. I'm quite shocked that you are using a revenue generating number.

You should be aware from a response from 10 Downing St to an online petition petition that you are breaking government guidelines by using such a number. I will quote part of the government respoonse:

"You might also be re-assured to know that the Government advised two years ago all its departments and agencies against their own use of 0870 numbers. By no means all Departments did use 0870 numbers, but where they did, they
should now have been replaced"

Is this what you refer to?

Quote:
*      We provide our customers with an 0870 for them to either divert their calls to, or issue to their clients
   *      We answer all calls in the customers name
   *      We digitally voice record all calls
   *      All calls are entered into a computer system following an agreed call script
   *      A call report is sent to an email address as soon as the call is finished
   *      We then manage the call on behalf of the client, this can include:

           o     Paging/SMS a member of their company

o     Calling a member of their company

o     Working to a staff rota

           o     Sending out literature

           o     Processing a sales order

Call 0870 1278 999 and ask for Shana to find out more

Talk about sick!

So the Ambulance service provides a client with an 0870. So if I were to use their "service" and I wanted my 01/02 number that I have given to many customers, I would have to pay diversion costs to 0870! They won't give me the underlying 01/02 number!

The standard NEG model then.

Are you sure this isn't another NEG owned operation?

But if you dial +44(0)1772 862666 and ask for someone they give you their 0870 number. You can look up the person you want to speak to also - All 0870 numbers!
