there was a thread on here about a directory enquiries (telco i think) with an encoded geographical number on it. i know i posted some questions on it but i cant find it anymore.i seached using my user name but no luck. anyway i tried to use the number today but got the message "the number you have dialed has not been recognised" does anyone know if there is an alternative number or have they closed that loophole.

These were removed. You have answered your own question. I believe that company in question found out about this.

thanks for replying dave (only just seen reply as i must of forgot to check the notification box). i thought that must be the case. has anybody found any kind of alternative?

The best alternative is the WAP service from BT. Strange how Kris Marshall doesn't mention this, but is happy to push 118500.
