Title: Numbers added to database
Post by derrick on Jun 20th, 2007 at 12:20pm
I have just added some numbers to the data base, but the geo number(s) have not appeared correctly.

The numbers are for Birmingham Midshires :-

01902 302636. and 01902 325036,  but as I put them in the same box,(with a space), it has come out as:-
01902 302636 0

Can someone please rectify it?

Which suggests the box can only accommodate 14 characters - 3 characters longer than a single standard geographical number.

That is correct.

Any other numbers whether they be NGNs or 01/02 are put in the "Other Info" box, which the search engine will pick up on.

Derrick, there is already an entry for "Savings & investments" in the database (verified) which has some other numbers. As these are the same, I suggest that they are all valid and that your numbers can be added to the existing entry. What do you think?

Hi Dave, I have just tried those geo numbers that I put in, and there appears to be a problem, the 01902 302636 is answered by BM, but it appears to be a number given to some one who has been called by BM and the number left on an answer phone,( although I retrieved it today via 1471 from a call to me from BM), it was answered now with a recorded message saying the call was not important and that they don't need to speak to me.

The number 01902 325036 is just ringing out, this number was e-mailed to me last year from Mr Paul Goode at BM.

However the 0800 number definitely works as I have used it regularly over the last 2 weeks, the last time being @ 11.50 a.m.  today.

Thanks for the feedback Derrick.

I've binned the # ending 636. I've added the 0800 to the verified entry and left the unverified with the 036 number as the alternative.
