Title: 0845 used for emergency no by Norfolk Police
Post by Barbara on Jun 27th, 2007 at 10:55am
While watching Look East on BBC1 yesterday evening, there was a story about a large tree branch having fallen on a group on young children from Essex at a National Trust property in Norfolk resulting in the death of one 10 year old child and injuries to a number of others, in one case serious injury.   I was then absolutely disgusted when the number given to be rung by anxious relatives was, you guessed it, 0845 456 4567!  Checked the database & found it was the number for Norfolk Police.

This is such a disgusting example of greed and cynicism, charging people who will be in a desparate state of worry, to the extent that they will not feel able to search for a geographical number.  How much lower can those in charge of these matters stoop?   I thought, after the scandal of the 0870 for the London bombings, this sort of thing was outlawed.   It is obviously no use whatsoever contacting Norfolk Police as they obviously have no sense of decency or humanity so to whom should the complaint be made?   If anyone else feels minded to complain, that, too would help as I don't live in Norfolk.

Thanks.

A Google reveals email addresses for Norfolk Constabulary in the form of: lastnamefirstinitial@norfolk.pnn.police.uk

Now you need to find someone to contact. Senior management structure is here and profiles of some people are here.

You could also express your disgust to those at BBC Look East. Direct email addresses at the BBC are firstname.lastname@bbc.co.uk
