This companys' website www.laskys.com is advertising a free call to an 0844 number, I am sure this can not be the case, if you run the mouse arrow over th 0844 it claims to be a free call. I will send an email when I am sure!

Have just been in to their site again and the word 'free' has been removed from the 0844 number! Did they bother to contact you Tanllan? Does anyone have a GN number as I will have to call them!

Sorry. Yes, they did.

I asked:
0844 is not free. > 0800 is free, only from landlines. > Any chance of a normal 01 or 02 number (please)?

They replied:

Don't you just hate the casual "regards" - particularly when they disregarded the email's content.

Still at least they have removed the lie about 084.

ps - I have cut and pasted their reply - I really have not altered it.

So they really did reply, "...... contact us on 0844 892 0124 where an advisor will not be able to assist." did they?

Sort of sums that firm up then.

The slightly better news is, for once, it's not a 5p/minute at all times number (it's 3p/minute at all times).

I have called the unverified number and its a call centre for Comet.

The number which you illude to is 01482 592267. A check of the website reveals it is part of Comet.

Thank you for notifying us of this. I have remove the unverified entry which stated that this was "Customer services".

There were a number of unverified entries for Laskys and no verified ones. I have removed all unverified entries and post them here for the record as they may be useful when working towards an alternative:

Alternative 0800 028 8644 which according to Google search results is Laskys' "Web Quotes Team". The number does not appear on web pages, but does in Google's search results.
01482 592273 "To get through directly to a manager"
01482 592288 "17-03-09 Ask switchboard to trasnfer you to Laskys"

Please provide feedback on this thread for any numbers you try and if you find one that works, let me know and I will add it to the listings. :)
