Title: Data Kits Ltd (Datakits.co.uk) Post by Daves. on Aug 13th, 2007 at 1:25pm
Hi, after placing an order with this company, and not getting it, nor any e-mail replys, there is a 0870 4111114 number to ring but is only an answer phone. I have now read really bad reviews for them, some poeple have found the managers number (Mike) and been able to get their orders sorted. Nobody has published the number though. Their address from the site (datakits.co.uk) is Unit 19 Victory Business Centre, somers road north Portsmouth Hants PO1 1PJ. Yell lists the company at 247b Francis Avenue, Southsea, Hampshire, PO4 0AL. I dont know which one is right !
Thanks for any Help :-[~ Edited by Dave: Thread title amended |

From the company's contact page: Quote:
Yell.com gives the 0870 number for Francis Avenue. A check of 192.com for this address yields nothing much, apart from the fact that at 247b resides St Francis Garage and Martin Harland Car Sales. BT Directory Enquiries shows nothing for either addresses. Whois datakits.co.uk gives another clue: Quote:
Who/what is Walco International? :-? A Google of walco international reveals, apart from a company Incorporated in US with that name that deals in animal health products, this one: Quote:
When you go to ]www.walcointernational.co.uk, it takes you to an eBay shop which doesn't exist. A look at the source code of Walco's page reveals it's: http://www.stores.ebay.co.uk/walcointernational So with them being in the same line of business, I think that they are the same Walco International. Whois walcointernational.co.uk: Quote:
A look back on the Internet Archive of Walco's shop on eBay (see http://www.stores.ebay.co.uk/walcointernational]here) reveals that it disappeared off eBay in January 2005. A look at the shop when it was there reveals that it was maintained by a member called w4lco who is no longer a registered eBayer. The shop had the Datakits.co.uk logo on, so it's definately them. You don't know Mike's surname then? A Google of "walco international" mike reveals the name Mike Reeder. A Google of datakits mike reveals the same name. Also Google "data kits" mike. The latter brought up this result as the first one. A check of names on the Electoral Roll using 192.com for Reeder within GU31 4?? reveals two Reeders, both called Michael! These are shown on the historical Electoral Roll only, so possibly moved. Indeed, one is from 2004 only (this one has a middle initial, J), and the other from 2002 (no middle initial). From 2004 to 2007 there have been no Reeders in the Portsmouth area on the Electoral Roll. Another tale on Pricerunner about Datakits here. This mentions Helen Young being a director, as well as Mr Reeder. Helen Young was living with Mr Reeder in 2004, according to 192.com. See another story on Pricerunner here (see bottom of page) confirms what 192.com says which is that Mr Reeder's current address is: 9 Frensham Road Southsea PO4 8AD The 2007 Electoral Roll shows he lives there with Ms Young. For some reason they are ex-directory. ::) Some pages mention people leaving messages on BT1571. Assuming that they've called the 0870 number, I guess that it goes through to a residential line, with it having 1571 on. Daves, you say you've called it, does it answer with BT 1571? I'll let you pick the bones out of that. Someone might like to continue where I left off, and find a direct number for either Reeder or Young. |

Hi, I would just like to thank you for your help ! armed with the information you gave me, I sent an e-mail to "Datakits". I addressed the e-mail to Mike and Helen (Full Names and full address). I told them that I would ring Trading Standards, report them to my credit card company and also take them to court to get what I was owed plus compensation. I did receive a reply and now have what I ordered, abit one item is not as advertised and could be a cheaper version, but I am satisfied. Thanks again :)
