I didn't realise that 090 numbers were premium rate until I was charged for one .  I don't recall making these calls.  The number is 09077078370.   I have tried some ways of finding out who this is,  but no joy.  Can anyone help?  I'm getting nowhere.

090 7707 8370 is the number for information about the European Health Insurance Card (which replaced the E111 form). Presumably someone in your household has used that number to obtain information about it.

Oh, by the way, this is yet another scam run by StealthNET. They run a similar scam site for Passport advice. 0845 numbers (and their geographic alternatives) can be found on the official Department for Health website - http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Policyandguidance/Healthadvicefortravellers/DH_4115402

Wow,  I'd spent a lot of time and achieved nothing,  and you've come back with the correct answer straight away.  Thank you so much.  I'd forgotten those phone calls as it didn't occur to me that they would be so devious.  I'll let all my friends know now.

More often than not it is a case of fiddling with the arrangement of spaces in the number and searching on Google.

Unfortunately it seems other legitimate websites have been duped into using this scam number - I've also informed them of it and hopefully they will update their websites to use the correct information.

It is nice to see that the people I emailed listened to me about this  ::). Two of the websites haven't been updated yet, and one of them has taken the 090 number off their site but kept the incorrect website link!!
