08700000123 try 02087455861 and ask to be transfered if you are not connected to the correct department ring again as I have found that different operators may connect to another number Be Persistant.

Calling this number gives a network-based announcement redirecting to the 0870 number. |

I find that if you listen for the start of the message,
type 1 (flight info) 1 (arrivals) 1 (yes I know the flight number) ???? this being the numbers from the flight number This should only take a matter of seconds. In this instance I believe the service can justify a charge. It is info that you require, you're not waiting for anybody, other than you typing in numbers. |

If you have web access its much cheaper (free) and easier to go to www.heathrowairport.co.uk and look up the arriving or departing flight using the lookup box on the left of the page. |

How about TMobile Web'nWalk. £7 per month for up to 40MB per day of web access on your mobile. If you get a mobile with a large screen and keyboard you should be able to look up the flights on the BAA website any time on that. Yes I know its an extra cost but if you are a chauffeur then having mobile web and mobile email access generally is likely to be pretty convenient for you. |

I run my own minibus company, and still stand by what I said.
In a 10 hour day you are only going to meet a maximum of 5 flights, by the time you service them. On my bill I am showing amounts between 4.8p and 6.5p per call + VAT. So what amounts to 60p per day in comparison to £500, assuming minimum £50 per trip, this is pretty negligible. If you work for a professional company, then they should be looking up your flight and relaying the info. They took the booking, they take their cut, they should sort it. Especially if you are only the driver. (And that's not belittling your position, but if it's us and them, then let them do the work) If you are in the office, then any professional set up would have all the airports on their bookmarks. If you're concerned about waiting in the car park too long, or are trying to avoid parking charges, then the 10p per call whilst parked by Hatton Cross for free is a great saving. ***edited*** Just found a fantastic site for checking flights at any airport in the world. This way you can check if the plane left on time, and you'll know long before it shows up as late on the official BAA pages. http://www.flightstats.com/go/FlightStatus/flightStatusByAirport.do?airport=LHR&airportQueryType=0 Obviously you would change the airport to the one required, once on their page. **edit #2** Put http://mobile.flightstats.com as a bookmark into your phone. This will give you take off and landing times of your chosen flight. Just tried it. Works for me. Cheaper than 0870 |
