Title: O2 Upgrades
Post by jgxenite on Sep 20th, 2007 at 8:28am
From shop.o2.co.uk:

"Existing customers get all the same great deals on upgrade. Call 01226 784068"

I wonder if that is an alternative to the Upgrade 0800 number given in the database? I've not checked it but thought I'd post it here incase someone knows about it and can shine a bit more light on that number.

Also, incase it helps, there is a call centre for O2 in Barnsley :).

The O2 customer service number 0870 600 3009 has an option for upgrades, and whilst I'd obviously not normally advocate use of an 0870, it's down as a free call fron an O2 mobile, so shouldn't cost you anything, nor come off your inclusive minutes, if you call from the mobile itself.

The 0870 number is NOT free from O2 mobiles. The only number that is free is 202 from a contract mobile phone. Ofcourse, the 01226 number would be free if you have inclusive free call minutes.

It's free:

and according to my bill
date              time              destination      rate             duration      cost
11 Sep 07      14:55:54      08706003009      All Day      00:12:17      0.000
and it would have an F at the end if it was out of call allowance..

Hmmm, I thought it was only free for contract phones and only if you called 202.

That 0870 is indeed only free on contract "Pay monthly" tariffs.  but since the OP wanted to talk to them about upgrades, I was assuming it was a contract phone he was on..   That o2 webpage has the full listo of numbers for each tariff type.

I used 0113 2722000 three weeks ago to upgrade my daughters O2 contract - worked well for me!
