Hi I tried the IdealWorld Customer Services Number 01733 887127 you get through to an English sounding person not the Indian Call Centre you would expect, anyway she asks you for your Customer Number which I gave them I have rang there on three separate occassions on different days.
Any the person on the phone says she is just taking "Messages" and she will have someone call you back it NEVER happens I am just wondering is this just Idealworlds way of us ringing on Ordinary Landlines and NoT the 0871 numbers they prefer. After all Customer Services is effectively a complains line the only money in this are the Premium rate 0871 10 pence per minute rate. Of course I am sure if you use the Normal landlines to place an order they will have your call prioritised and they cash you in through sales straight away:) Just want to know what people's experiences with this company have been. If they continue to behave like this I finnished buying stuff from them. Regards, Heidy ~ Edited by Dave: Thread title amended |

On a positive Note Idealworld Customer Services rarely if ever respond to email this is obviously so that you will ring them up and Earn them more money:(
There is no cash is answering email, I got 1 email response from them today thats after a lot of telephone calls and emails sent. This is getting confusing I guess there is a element of luck too:) Moneysaver |

Ideal Shopping Direct Plc, a company registered in England and Wales, whose registered office is at Newark Road, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom, PE1 5WG. Hm... I've found googling for >> ideal "pe1 5wg" +01733 brings up a crop of possibilities. I can't say that any of these are direct equivalents of the customer service numbers, but it's a start.. There's a Ideal Home Mail Order Ltd. Newark Road, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, PE1 5WG 01733-777002 Ideal Shopping Direct. 0843 numbers, like 0844 numbers, cost between 0.5p and 5p per minute to call (depends on subsequent digits).
Similarly, 0872 and 0873 nunbers, like 0871 numbers, cost between 6p and 10p/ per minute (depends on subsequent digits). BT's charges for them are detailed HERE. Other providers can (and some do) charge whatever they like. |

Thank you to all that have sent in replies to my question either they want customers placing orders or like myself boycott ringing through to them, its their loss not mine, the website is equally as bad, if they want the custom they must bow down to us all and give us a free phone number, the automated line is even more expensive and keep us on the line for at least 10-20 minutes. while they connect you to an operator RUBBISH to them now that' :-?s all i can say

Hi all
IW's telephony unit head- he must be a frequent visitor of this forum and he is trying hard to make money for his company by concealing the landline numbers for 0871 and 0843! (what a sicko). What they do not understand is they are LOSING SALES VOLUMES just becuase people like me are reluctant to place an order seeing a customer service number starting with 0871/43. (PS/Mods: I am not a newbie for some reason I couldn't recall my old username used may be a year ago or sometime in 2007, is there a way to search ? I do not remember my email address either, poor me getting old !) :DCya |

Hi Can anyone help I am trying to contact customer services for this company, who`s address is Uint 1 & 2 St Davids Square, Fengate, Peterborough PE1 5YG. The number they list is 08431 680 680. I have looked them up on SAY NO TO 0870 and there is a number 01733 316200 listed, but when I ring this the very rude lady refers me back to the 08431 number and says there is no normal lanline number available.
I dont see why I should have to pay to get help and support on an item I have bought from them, can anyone help by giving me a number for either Customer Services, (allegedly) or Returns dept? Cheers Can I also take this opportunity to wish everyone who has helped me this year through this site a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. :) |

Hi Jarvis,
I can understand your frustration at not being able to contact IW & also the rudeness of 'that woman' I had a similar experience recently. If you email: idealworld@shoppingtelly.com with your complaint I'm hopeful that you will receive a call within the hour (not sure about week-ends though) I had the head of customer services call me within 20mins & he bent over backwards to help me & to resolve my problem. He actually restored my faith in IW. Hope this helps. Kindest regards 3XsAlady |

Thanks for that. I think it is worthwhile pointing out that idealworld@shoppingtelly.com is not a direct address to Ideal World. ShoppingTelly.com is a website dedicated to shopping TV channels in general and any messages sent to idealworld@shoppingtelly.com are therefore received by that site's admin team and forwarded on. I Googled the e-mail address and one link (apart from this thread here) came up and that is a message from the ShoppingTelly.com site owner: http://forum.shoppingtelly.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16718 He says that he has been engaging with Ideal World about its customer service and has setup the e-mail address. Any messages received will be forwarded on to the appropriate department within Ideal World. |

Thanks for your help, I contected them, by the email address someone gave, asked them to ring me back, which they did within about 10 minutes and they have arranged collection of the item for next Tuesday!
Now that`s what I call service, if only companies went back to this type of service, instead of trying to rip customers off by using paid call lines, we would all be a lot happier. Thank goodness for SAYNOTO0870 and all its contributers. 8-) Steve J |

Searching channels last night came across Ideal World , spotted a new number 09056 20p a minute, well done a 100% increase ::) if you read reviews of this channel they are nearly all negative with scathing mentions of "customer services in India keeping you on line trying to flog more stuff you don't want. A place in Hall of Shame I think is well deserved.

Bottom of the Ideal Word website (IW) is their "glorious" new number - which as jimjim pointed out a note saying it now costs 20p per minute (note from a BT Landline)..
My Mum used to buy stuff from CreatandCraft (which is part of the same group) but has found other places to buy from inc QVC UK (QVC UK) who have a FREE number to call.. I somehow think IdealWorlds days are numbered... |

An alternative for the order line, 0905 648 4848, is 020 1104 8900. This is a "national dialling only" number, which means that the 020 code must always be dialled, including from a telephone line with a 020 number. ;)

And they mislead about the cost. The cost is 20 pence per minute plus caller's own provider's charge, with the exception of BT which isn't allowed to make any charge (except the regulated miniscule one). So it is total rubbish that those other than BT "may" charge more, but it is BT that "will" charge less. |

The market leader is, of course, QVC - which offers 0800 numbers for all points of contact (ordering via their call centre, automated ordering and even their studio line).
I suppose some people will call Ideal World's Premium Rate number to order - but I know I never will (well, I never watch the channel so it'd be a bit difficult anyway). |

Title: Re: Ideal World/Create & Craft (Ideal Shopping Direct) Post by Dave on Nov 26th, 2011 at 11:18am
I’ll summarise where we are with this one:
Numbers in green are those which were listed in our database. Previously Ideal World’s customer services number was 0843 168 0680 with the alternative 020 7649 7601. These answered with the same IVR (menu) and this was found to be so just over a year ago (see Reply #26). This follows an announcement that Ideal Shopping Direct’s ordering and customer services had been outsourced to Eckoh UK. A more recent news release from Eckoh says that the contract has been extended until 2013. I suggest that this is where the alternatives to ISD’s ordering and customer services 08 and 09 numbers lie. My suspicions are further enforced by the fact that calling these published numbers, it rings momentarily (a fraction of a ring) and then trips (call is answered). This is the same response experienced when calling Eckoh’s numbers. The numbers we have thus far are for:- 1. The head office which is based in Peterborough Ideal Shopping Direct’s address is: Ideal Shopping Direct Ideal Home House Newark Road Peterborough PE1 5WG We have the switchboard number listed as 01733 316200 whilst the published number is 0843 168 8888. E-mail addresses are firstname.lastname@idealshoppingdirect.co.uk Those numbers that were in the database are for the following members of staff:
There was also 01733 887123 and 887155 which tom25 says aren’t for Ideal World. Previously we found that 887xxx numbers were for ISD’s office. 2. The old number provided by Eckoh UK The number 020 7649 7601 was previously found to go to the IVR on the published 0843 number. It still rings momentarily and, after a short period of silence, goes to network busy tone (long tone followed by short tone rather than the tones being of equal length, as with conventional engaged tone). 3. Market research calls from 020 7209 8093 This is a company called Avalon, as the message on 7209 8091 reveals. I suggest that this may be only market research for the company and nothing more. In short, this is like looking for a needle in a haystack! The following 08 and 09 numbers are in use by ISD:

I have had a recent lengthy debacle with Create & Craft, and can confirm that David.Peck@craft-retail.com is the current head of Customer Services.
He was initially very helpful, then passed me to another department which kept up communication but was less obliging. I have now closed my account with Create & Craft as they are incompetent in the extreme imho. Good luck! |

Small victory - they have deleted the "complain about the 090 number" 0843 number.
Their website now states: *For complaints about this 090 service call 0330 3321300 However, they list 0871 712 3456 as their contact number for returns etc. I believe that's now a no-no. |
Title: Re: Ideal World/Create & Craft (Ideal Shopping Direct) Post by Ian01 on Jun 9th, 2016 at 8:16am Any line used for an after-sales function must start 01, 02, 03 or 080. The regulations were published by BIS on 13 December 2013 and came into force on 13 June 2014. The use of a premium rate 090 number for ordering is complete madness. Callers pay up to around 31p per minute extra from a landline or around 65p per minute extra from a mobile to call this, compared to calling an 01, 02 or 03 number. |

Good Morning, Apologies for not posting this sooner, I have been unusually busy. Here is the reply from Ideal World/Create & Craft. We are aware of the Government Guidance on the Consumer Contracts Regulations, and we have reproduced below the paragraphs following those provided by you above. As such, we believe that what is provided on both websites follows these guidelines. Do the regulations say that I have to provide a telephone helpline? 7. No. Regulation 41 on charges for customer helplines only applies if you offer a telephone line on which consumers can contact you about something they have bought. 8. Nor does the Regulation require that all numbers operated by a business are at a basic rate. Only that where the trader provides a telephone line so that the consumer can contact them about a contract concluded, there should be a number available on which the consumer can call for this purpose at no more than the basic rate. For example, as there are times when consumers may prefer 0845 numbers to geographic numbers it may be desirable in some circumstances to maintain both access numbers. If traders take this approach the ‘basic rate’ compliant telephone number should be communicated as prominently as one that is not. 9. Sales lines, and those offering services paid for through a phone bill (e.g. a weatherline) are unaffected. Additionally: • Based on the above information Create and Craft and Ideal World are contravening the regulations as stipulated by the EU and the UK Government. The only number that complies is the one I have marked with ** however NO call charge information is displayed. This number is charged at Standard Geographic Rates and is included in call plans. As far as we are aware there is no requirement (including from Ofcom) to put a cost charge against 0330 numbers. • On the Create and Craft website there is also an 0843 number listed for any complaints on the 090 number. So Create and Craft are charging customers more money to complain about a number that costs them money, why is this? This 0843 number was used on the websites before the 0330 numbers were introduced. We have now changed the number and as you will see the 0330 number is now displayed. • Additionally the Ideal World website has this note in regards to the 0330 number: **Calls cost 9p per minute plus your phone companies’ access charges.... We have corrected this error. ** relates to the 0330 number they displayed for cancellations or returns.... As has been noted on here, the use of anything except an 01/02/03 number for any "after purchase" enquiries would appear to be against those regulations. :-? I welcome any comments in relation to how to pursue this further with them! :o |
Title: Re: Ideal World/Create & Craft (Ideal Shopping Direct) Post by Ian01 on Jun 9th, 2016 at 11:54am Keep it simple. An 01, 02, 03 or 080 number is required for any communication after an order has been placed. |
