Title: Jobcentre Plus - Merseyside Post by mrwill on Nov 6th, 2007 at 4:26pm
Us lucky Scousers now have the greatest pleasure of using a non geographical number for any benefit enquiries. My poor wee mobile bill! Not to mention the land line I have to avail me of cheap Broadband
Have checked The JCP listings but these don't appear as yet: 08456088541 08456088529 once again even the staff haven't been told the difference between local rate non gegraohical and land line numbers. Poor people. Any advice?? ~ Edited by Dave: Thread title amended |

I take your logic. but Liverpool/Birkenhead offices refer you to Chester (well thats where it appears to be) Call Centre...

Please provide some information: address of the Jobcentreplus you want to contact, what type of benefit, is it a first enquiry or an ongoing case/claim, details on any letter you may have had, etc, etc. The more information you provide the easier will it be to track down (hopefully) the geographic number.

In postcodes CH41, CH42, CH43, CH47, CH48, CH49, CH60, CH61, CH62, CH63, L62, L63, L65 benefits and social fund enquiries are dealt with by the
Department for Work & Pensions Hordan House, 35 Price Street, Birkenhead, Merseyside, CH41 6NU Telephone: 0151-649-1000 This telephone number is in Hordan House but they refuse to transfer to the benefits section and quote the 0845 number you have given. May be the address is some help if you can visit the office. If you are not in one of the postcodes listed above there are other geographic numbers to try for DWP office in the Merseyside area. They are listed on: http://www.dwp.gov.uk/housingbenefit/manuals/guidance-manuals/2003/debt-management.xls |

I see you got the same response as I did. Even the Postal addresses have been centralised to Chester. Makes you wonder if they have realised how much they can get for the land they are holding? (sic) |
