Have found my way here via a link in another Forum. Have gone through my last itemised telephone bill and trawled through all the premium rate numbers and found the alternates except for 08712261714. The call had cost £0.905. I cannot find any references to it or who owned it. Any help would be welcome.

This may be a starting point for further research (or a red herring):

0871 226 1715 and 0871 226 1716 (respectively one and two digits away from the requested number) are fax numbers for Oldham Athletic Football Club

Just tried ringing the number and got a message to say it was a mail order phone desk but it was busy. Presumably the missus has been buying stuff!

Interesting. I also rang the number and then it was a discounted telephone service to selected overseas destinations.

Did you misdial :), its definitely a Mail Order Service number.

I typed in the number exactly as it showed on my telephone bill.
