Can anyone tell me why I could have the premium number 09058018586 on my Virgin telephone bill please?

I am a Virgin customer and I know better than to dial 09 numbers.

How often does it appear? How long are the calls? What time of day is it? If there's more than one call, do they occur within a short space of time or are they spread over days, weeks or months?

I have just spoke to Noodle who also can't explain what this number is. They are going to look in to it. It appears twice on my bill within 2 minutes off each other.

I am on Broadband. We have not rang any competitions. I suppose I shall have to wait until Noodle come back to me.

No. We always comment on how much the calls are. I still have a feeling it is something on the computer.

You say you're using broadband. Do you still have your old dial-up modem connected to the PC? If so, you may have inadvertently downloaded a rogue dialer at some time which is calling out without you knowing about it; I would suggest removing the modem.

Recommend you also try installing and running some or all of the following (free) anti-malware programs:

Spybot Search & Destroy
Ad-Aware 2007 Free
Microsoft's Windows Defender
