Title: Heathrow accident Post by sherbert on Jan 17th, 2008 at 5:36pm At least B.A. have done the decent thing.... BA has set up a helpline for concerned relatives: 0800 389 4193 |

Excellent. Good comment sherbert.
But why is there no-one out there who is flogging these things and who understands UK telecoms? 080 is not free from mobiles, which many callers might use. Indeed it might be their only 'phone. Since Ofincomp allowed mobile charging on 080 then all well-run companies should offer 080 and a geog number. After all those 080 numbers have to be delivered to an 01 or 02 number (OK and 03). |

Thank you farci.
I had not looked, but simply jumped to the usual conclusion. :-[ V pleased to see that some people can do it properly. |

... but also manage to include the usual rip-off stuff a bit further down - Customers wishing to contact the airline for general information should not call this number. The number for general enquiries in the UK is 0870 850 9850. :( I'm just pleased that all passengers and crew emerged mostly OK. |

Clearly the crisis has been averted (after three days!) and they've decided to stop using the 0800 number in preference to their rip off 0870 numbers...
Wonder what would happen if you rang the 0800 number now... |

if you ring 0800 389 4193 the recorded message says that the centre is closed and gives two options for enquiries: for luggage 01344 316 676 for re-booking, etc. 0800 727 800 |

Guess that explains that then :)
