Title: Manx2 Airlines Post by Biscuity on Jan 22nd, 2008 at 9:50am
I'm having some trouble getting a geographical number for Manx2, a small airline based on the Isle of Man. The website at http://www.manx2.com lists
Reservations : 0871 200 0440 & E-Mail Reservations: reservations@manx2.com However an email gets this response: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please could you give me a geographical phone number for your reservations? I wish to ask questions about booking a flight & your Gold service, but I do not wish to do this over a premium number. The only phone number for our reservations is 0871 200 0440; however the ticket desk in the IOM can also give you information at the desk. Regards Judith Musgrave Senior Manager Manx2.com Limited Thank you for your reply. I don’t think I should have to travel to the airport to get information on the Gold club? Just to confirm, as I will be publishing this, that you either don’t know the correct geographical number for reservations, or that you simply refuse to give it to a prospective customer? Comprehensive information about the Manx Gold fares can be found on our website and our head office number is published where general enquiries can be answered. However to make a reservation over the phone the reservation number would have to be used. Regards Judith Musgrave Senior Manager Manx2.com Limited ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm not sure how this shower won: Isle of Man Bank Small Sized organisation of the Year Award 2007. Manx2.com is delighted to have won the Isle of Man Bank Small Sized organisation of the Year Award 2007. Communications Director James Filleul commented: "We launched the company in July 2006, and to have booked more than 60,000 customers on six routes in a little over a year has been hard work, and a real tribute to our team. We try and offer a good punctual service at a fair price to our customers, and we hope this award is proof that we are doing that. We will continue to bring choice and the freedom to fly to Manx Aviation in the years to come". There is a group booking number listed on the site of 01624 822111. However when calling, it's just a guy walking around on a cordless phone. Not reservations. Can anyone offer any advice please? |

Unfortunately, they don't appear to have existed for long - the oldest record on the internet archive is 10/6/2006 - and that gives the 0871 number too.

BT Phone Book gives a fax number for Manx2 of 01624 822112, which is one digit after the general phone number. You could try numbers which follow on in the hope that they go through to Manx2's office.
Of course, it could be outsourced to a third party call centre provider. |

I've found a way to get to reservations which is to call 822111 & ask a reservation related question. ::) They then just put me through!

It's only a small company with a small number of employees, so it's likely that they only have a few numbers. Have you tried numbers which follow on from the fax of 822112? |

I've not yet done that Dave.
Because it's a small company, I didn't want to reach the same person on the same day. I'll try tomorrow & feedback. |

*If* the 0871 number answers with a recorded message out of hours, this may be on the geographical to which it points. Thus, it might be worth trying later tonight (I am assuming that there will be no one in the office). |

Ok.... which number are you suggesting that I ring tonight? The 0871 one? :-?

BTW
Their old 0870 number is still listed. I understand 0870 numbers change in February or so, what happens if I ring the 0870 number in February. Does it cost them money instead? |

I am suggesting you try 01624 822113 /114 /115 etc and "look for" the number for reservations. If you call the 0871 number (briefly) and it answers with a message, this message is probably what you're looking for on the geographical numbers. One word of warning though, it's ifs and buts -- but I have successfully located the proper 01/02 numbers using this technique. |

No because these changes have been quietly put on hold and the current charges for 0870 will remain. However, 0870 is less worse than the 0871 number. What is the 0870 number? |

The old number for reservations is 0870 242 2226

I rang 822113 & 822114 they were both private numbers.
It looks like I'm stuck. :( BTW Do you have a link to info about the 0870 change of heart? |

You could try going down: 822110 /109 although it sounds like they don't have a block. :-/ |
