Title: Wells Fargo nuisance phone calls
Post by gertcher on Jan 30th, 2008 at 11:54am
For the past three days I have been getting calls from Wells Fargo, probably longer I have not been keeping an accurate record

It's one of those call when the phone rings and there is no one on the other end.  If you do a 1471 to get the number it is 0808 2381 512.  You have the option of leaving a message asking them not to call again, obviously they do not pick up their messages and act on them.

Wells Fargo and 0808 2381 512 is not in the saynoto database.  Searching on line does not bring up any UK contact number or any reference to Wells Fargo, except a remark about a connection to HSBC.

I was able to contact Wells Fargo in the USA for free , the number and instructions of use are on their website, it is important you read the instructions

What I have been trying to do is contact Wells Fargo to speak to a real person and get them to stop calling me, so far without success.  Does anyone have a contact number?

Thanks

Ps  it must have cost WF a fair bit for my free call, must have been 1/2 hour trying to contact a relevant department

See website:

Two free numbers from the UK: 0800 2795088 or 0500 890222

Those numbers are very misleading.  They are access numbers to some sort of switchboard, with a human, and they then ask you which number you want to be connected to.  That is why I stressed reading the instructions, found at the top of the linked page.

the numbers in the instructions connect you to the regular Wells Fargo phone system in the USA and trying to find the correct department about a UK phone sale department is probably not the right way to go about stopping them phoning

Just this minuet had a call from Wells Fargo and this time there was someone on the other end.

I explained to them how difficult it was to contact them and that no action had been taken to stop calling me.  They were very apologetic and assured me it would not happen again.  We will see.

This is no help to anyone else being pestered by WF, if I find any info I will report back

Thanks
