Title: ATG Tickets (Ambassador Theatre Group)
Post by max_l on Feb 23rd, 2008 at 2:24pm
Sorry if this is in the wrong place, it's my first post!

The unverified entry in the database for the Ambassador Theatre Group Booking line is now out of date.  The new number is 02078455500.

Thanks!  :)

Hello,

I have this number: 0844 871 7615 for the Ambassador Theatre Group, to book tickets to differents shows.

I couldn´t find a free number. In the list I´ve found a number, but I think is for the Ambassador Theatre, and not for the Ambassador Theatre GROUP (they are differents).

Please, can somebody help me?

Thank you very much!

Hello and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

Perhaps you could post the number you thought might be for one of the theatres so I can amend it with a note to say so.

I searched for ambassador and found 020 8544 7424 listed in several entries. A quick call to it and the 0844 number answered with the same message.

Try it and let me know. If it works then I will put it straight into the listings.  :)

I´ve tried, and is working!!! So, I can confirm that this number: 020 8544 7424 is for the ATG.

:)

Again, thank you very much  :)

Thanks alot for the feedback.  :)

I've completed my work on listing numbers for all Ambassador Theatre Group's venues. Ambassador Tickets operates the booking lines for alot of them, at its office in Wimbledon.

Towards the end of last year, ATG bought Live Nation's theatres, and ticket sales for these are done through Ticketmaster (which is now a part of Live Nation). I wouldn't bet against Ambassador Tickets taking over sales for these venues at some point.

Does anyone know of an alternate number for ATG (0844 871 7627). The existing number quoted on this website ( 020 8544 7430) is no longer available - the recorded message says to redial using 0844 871 7615 (or has anyone an alternative for the latter number please.

Many thanks

There are many 020 numbers listed on the main website if you search for Ambassador, you could try 020 8544 7424 which is bookings for all theatres and also performing the search provides individual numbers for each theatre.

These numbers were done about a year ago and were correct. A cursory try of some of them suggests that they've all been changed, for whatever reason. I'm presently in the throws of going through them all and will report back when I've finished.

7424 for one now redirects to 0844 871 7615.  :-X

The contact page gives the address of the contact centre as:

ATG Tickets Customer Contact Centre
4th Floor
Prince Consort House
London
SE1 7TJ

Any ideas on the numbers they use there? ... this page suggests 020 7091 8713/89. 020 7091 8801 is ATG Tickets closed message

The 020 8544 74xx numbers we used to list now have a recorded message redirecting to 0844 871 7615.

I have now found that 020 709188xx numbers are for ATG Tickets and they include those for each of the venues that match their 0844 numbers.

A generic number for bookings and customer services is 020 7091 8857.

Are you saying that the last 2 digits of any 0844 number quoted can simply be added to the end of 020 7091 88 in order to convert the cost to that of a geographic call?

No. I did wonder if that was the case at first though.

The IVRs are customised for each venue (they give the venue's name followed by the same options). That is how they could be matched up.

Thanks. I've combined threads on ATG. As you can see we, and particularly I, have been along this road.

Previously I mapped out a block of 020 7091 88xx numbers and matched them with their respective 0844 — each one being for a different venue or other purpose. Before that they were all 020 8544 74xx numbers and these too seem not be recognised. The exceptions I found are 020 8544 7457/69 which is answered as "ATG Tickets" and must be worth a shot — please report back as it might be a suitable for all ATG enquiries.

The ATG Tickets (Ambassador Theatre Group) geographic number listed, 020 7091 8857, is no longer valid. It gives the "number not recognised" message.

NDK thank you for letting us know,

I will find a way to get the database updated.

On a side note I have just sent the following e-mail to ATG:

"Dear ATG, the following link advises an 0844 contact number for your customer care line.  This is in direct contravention of the Consumer Contracts Regulations.  The number provided must be charged at a Geographic rate. These numbers start 01/02/03 - See section J here

Why does ATG insist on having an 0844 number instead of an 03 number for it's customer care line?  Does it seek to maximise any revenue it can make from it's patrons!

Additionally the Access Telephone booking line is an 0844 number and the Access typetalk booking line is an 0871 number, the most expensive number range excluding 09 premium rate.  It would suggest that ATG intends to make money out of those who have disabilities and cannot simply book via the website.

Why will ATG not introduce the 03 equivalent numbers for these lines?

I look forward to your reply."

e-mail edited to include easier links for forum usage

EDIT: Oddly the "thank you" page given after I had sent the e-mail (via their website) http://www.atgtickets.com/thankyou/ gives that number to contact them on from outside the UK.....

Coincidentally, I recently contacted ATG to complain about non-compliance with the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 (CCRs).  After enough pestering, I received a refund of my phone charge.

I was told their aftersales support can be reached at 020 8544 7469.  Note that Dave discovered this in March.  They also hide a reference to it on their Terms and Conditions page.

Of course, their Contact Us page is still in clear noncompliance with the CCRs.  It contains this gem:

Quote:
What will it cost me to call? We’re pleased to say that ATG doesn’t charge premium rates on any of our 0844 – numbers. All our phone lines charge at a national rate

The Good News is thanks to UKCalling they now publish the access charge...

ATG, as the service provider, has to declare their Service Charge.

The Access Charge is declared by the caller's landline or mobile provider.

Ah yes, good point. I'd flipped the terminology in my head.

I did mean to follow this up with the reply I got from ATG, so here it is:
"Thank you for contacting ATG Tickets

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

I appreciate you taking the time to write to us with your concerns, I will pass them onto the relevant department for their feedback purposes.

I can confirm that ATG has a central booking line whereby the Sales Agent can access all booking systems for over 38 Venues across the Country and, ATG does not charge a premium rate on any of our 084 – numbers.  Calls to this number cost 7p per minute, plus your phone company's access charge.

Kind Regards"

It didn't really answer my points at all, in fact it's a clear attempt to justify the use of 084 numbers.  Perhaps a stronger reply is needed.

::)

ATG does use a premium rate number. ATG already declares the premium paid to the joint benefit of ATG and their telecoms provider is 7p per minute.

All numbers starting 070, 084, 087, 09 or 118 are premium rate. On all of these ranges (except 070) the premium is declared as the Service Charge.

Where the Service Charge is more than 7p per minute or per call, the service becomes a Controlled Premium Rate Service and subject to additional PhonepayPlus regulation.
