Title: Government offices, especially DVLA Post by 80GT on Mar 3rd, 2008 at 10:29pm
There is a petition at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/DVLA0870phone/ asking the PM to stop Government offices, such as DVLA, using 0870 numbers. There were only 89 signatures when I looked on 3 March 2008 and the petition ends on 21 March 2008 (Good Friday).
There is another one at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/NoPremiumRates/#detail asking the PM to prevent public service departments generally from using non-geographical numbers. That had only 26 signatures on 3 March and it ends on 2 April. They are both worth signing, so let's have more signatures please. |

The DVLA makes millions from its 0870 numbers and I understand it was going to switch to 03 around now due the changes which were due to take effect on 1 February which would mean loss of revenue. Because that's now not happening, it will stay as is. |
