Are you saying that all alternative numbers for Makro entries "don't work"? :-/ Perhaps you could elborate on which ones you have tried and found "don't work". In what way don't they work? Please provide some information to go on, as per the instructions. |

Dave, it looks like ALL stores, I have just tried 3 of them and you go straight to a recorded message telling you to call 0844 4457445 to contact all stores. Looks like they have done away with the geo numbers and gone to a central call centre >:( |
Title: redirecting back to 0845 Post by MpT on Sep 12th, 2008 at 8:40am
Hi there. I've only just registered and this is my first post, so I hope it's in the right place - apologies if not.
I've looked up the '01' number for the company I wanted to ring, and rung them, only to receive a recorded message saying "we now have one number for all our store, please ring 0845....", therefore taking me back to the number I had in the first place, but was trying to avoid. Is this a common occurance ? Is there a way round it ? Thanks. |

Perhaps they changed from 01/02 to 0845 and the number in the database is the 'old' geo number used before going to 0845 which worked when verified.
Most importantly, please tell us which company it is and what number it is that is doing this so we can remove it. Also, by doing this, someone may be able to help find another number. |

Thanks Dave.
The company is a retailers called Makro. There are loads of branches listed, all using 0845 445 7445 I tried to call the Birmingham branch on 0121 550 7341 Thanks for replying. |

Thanks for the feedback. I've moved it to the thread for Makro. I have heard of this happening with Makro stores. There is also another thread on Makro in the general chat section here. I will have a check through and remove those Makro numbers that refer back to the 0844 number. The 0844 number is a central number. However, I believe some geographical numbers are given for branches on the website. This usually gives a clue to the block of DDI numbers they have. In the case of the Birmingham branch, they give numbers of the form 0121 504 22xx. I suggest that you try 0121 504 2200. Please let us know whether this works or not and I will amend the entry for that branch. |

I've just done some housekeeping on the Makro entries. Those which redirected to the 0844 number are either verified with a new working number or are unverified with a new number.
Some entries give the main number ending as 21, 20 or 00. Eg for Birmingham try 0121 504 2221, 0121 504 2220 and 0121 504 2200. |

Dave, I have just rung the Preston branch on the "unverified number" 01772 766200, and the guy, when asked, told me I was talking to the Preston branch, so that can be a confirmed number. |

Just tried the Ipswich branch on the unverified number ending 00, then 21 and 20 - all unobtainable :-/

The last two digits of the butchery and fax numbers are above 50, so perhaps their numbers don't start at 00. Try ending 50 or even 60. |
