Title: Travelodge - Swansea Post by gralcam on Mar 11th, 2008 at 11:12pm
I am in particular looking for the 01792 number for the swansea Central location.
Here is transcript of E=mail I issued today gining them a piece of my mind. "Frankly I am incensed by this reply. Please treat this E-mail that I am sending you as an official complaint and forward to your complaints department. I take offense in being asked by you to telephone the hotel directly primarily as I find the provision of 0871 numbers very annoying. A mass collusion between telephone service providers and large organizations like yourselves. Could you please in this instance either provide me with the 01792 Swansea number (it does exist) for the Swansea Central Travel Lodge so that I may telephone them myself without incurring the charges a 0871 number levies or provide me with confirmation as to whether there are interconnecting rooms in the Swansea Central Travel Lodge by telephoning the Travel lodge directly yourselves and sending an E-mailed response to me. Many thanks in anticipation of your being able on this occasion to furnish me with a full and acceptable reply to my request." ther are two Travelodges for which I do have numbers for. I will dig them out from my suitcase and put them up here but it is in particular the Swansea one I need today. ~ Edited by Dave: Thread title amended |

I've found an 0870 number, which is at least a bit cheaper than 0871:

I wonder whether the Swansea M4 hotel (01792 898972 on the database) might give you the number?

I'm not sure who you sent the e-mail to, but if it is customer services, complaints or the hotel itself, then I think you are misguided as it's hardly their fault.
I would also advise not write such a message in that way. From the first paragraph I quote: "I take offense in being asked by you to telephone the hotel directly primarily as I find the provision of 0871 numbers very annoying." So you were asked personally by the person you writing to that it was them that requested you to telephone the 0871 numbers? Perhaps they are personally incensed by these numbers aswell, but as it's their job, then they must tow the company line. By being agressive you are less likely to receive an empathetic response. Why is there is need to fill the message with "you"s and "your"s. I would stick to referring to "Travelodge" as a body. That way it is Travelodge that is requiring you to call these numbers and not the individuals within that organisation. Decisions such as this to use 0871 are taken by senior management. If I were you, I would write to them. The executive team is here. Jon Mortimore is the chief financial officer and is responsible for IT, so I would contact him. Maybe copy in the chief executive as well. A quick search reveals that email addresses are of the form firstname{dot}lastname{at}travelodge{dot}co{dot}uk Remember, just expressing the facts is fine. It puts you off calling and gives you a poor opinion of their "brand" by using revenue sharing numbers. On the subject of your request, from AA Members' Handbook Travelodge number is 01792 896222. There's no address in the AA bookso it could be any of the Swansea hotels. An address is always useful: Travelodge Swansea Central Hotel Princess Way Swansea SA1 3LW Tel: 0871 984 6326 Fax: 01792 470427 The page on this hotel is here Going by the fax number, I would be inclined to try 01792 470420 and other similar numbers. |

Don't know how much this will help the original poster but I have found a number for another Travelodge by a circuitous route. I googled the postcode which gave me a link to www.city-visitor.com/wye/hotels and I then scrolled down below the hotel adverts where it gave a list of all hotels with a geographical number for the Travelodge. The one I checked was for Ashford, Kent, the NGN is 0871 984 6004 fax 01233 622676, the geo no which I have verified by calling it is 01233 624213 so please could this be added to the verified list I did try googling the Swansea postcode given by Dave which didn't give an equivalent link but gralcam might like to play about with the link I have given above to see if it produces anything or the postcode may be different. Anyway, thought I would pass on the verified no & my route in case it helps anyone.

Barbara, this was already in the verified list, so please don't duplicate! ::) ~ Edited by Dave: Thread title amended |
