Title: Head Office Switchboards unable to transfer calls
Post by helsbels on Apr 24th, 2008 at 11:48am
Hi

I am amazed at how many head office switchboards are unable to transfer calls these days.  What are they there for then?  They may as well have an answer machine with all of the non geo nos listed.  Today, I was even refused the complaints department (Bosch - Linda on switchboard in Milton Keynes).

I find the saynoto0870.com website so useful and it keep my phone bills at the level they should be when I pay for landline calls as part of my bundles.

Of course they can! They just say they can't - presumably because the drones who work on them have been told to say that so that the companies don't lose their surreptitious call revenue. One trick that seems to work is to tell them that your switcboard blocks all calls to 08 numbers - and if they want your business, they HAVE to put you through (or give you a geographic number....which you can immediately post here   ;D )

They were not "buying" into the "my switchboard cannot" routine unfortunately, though I have had success with this before.  I ended up asking for the CEO's office and a lady kindly arranged for someone to call me from technical support.  And sure enought they did and were very helpful.

BSH Applicance Care, who provide Bosch, Neff, and Siemens parts and servicing are a separate company although I expect are probably a wholly owned subsidiary of Bosch or whatever if one investigated matters far enough.

But this is one reason why the please transfer me approach may not work as the main Bosch HQ and BSH Applicance Care are different companies in different parts of the country.
