Hi,
Can anyone help me with this,I have tried calling 005511........ from Spain using ++44 005511.... and also ++44 05511.......... but cannot get through.

Surely you mean you are trying to call a number starting 05511? In that case, you should be dialling +44 5511 ...... (the leading 0 is dropped when calling from abroad).

However, I don't know whether you can call 05511 numbers from abroad.

Hi,thanks for your help and quick response.
This is the number my bank manager gave so I do not have to go through 0845 ......... and actually call direct so yes the numbers start with 0055..............

No numbers in the UK start 00 (except for when you are calling an international number from a landline), so it will be 05511. Like I said, it should be +44 5511.... have you tried that?

If that doesn't work, there isn't a lot we can do about it unfortunately - you will probably have to call the 0845 number.

The number is probably 05511 etc. If I dial a number starting 0055 from the UK my call will be routed to Brazil as 55 is its international dialling code.

Abbey is one such bank which uses 05 numbers. Perhaps your foreign telco will not allow calls to these numbers. :-/

Have you tried dialling +445511 etc ?

Yes,you right about 'Abbey is one such bank which uses 05 numbers' that's my bank alright I would try your suggestion and hopefully be able to talk directly to the manager.

So you have a number to call the branch directly? Perhaps you would supply it to us.

You can either post it here or send it by private message to me and I will add it. Don't submit it to the database as there is no way of knowing who added the number.
