Hi everyone

Please can someone help me locate an alternative number for the new Dawson News Rochester depot?

All news and mags operations will be transferring from the presently used Canterbury depot with effect from Monday 12/05/2008.

The address details that I have been given this morning are:-

Dawson News
1 and 2 Trident Close
Medway City Estate
Rochester
ME2 4ER

Telephone numbers:-

News - 0845 389 3857   >:(
Mags - 0845 389 3855   >:(

If there are any other details required, please reply and let me know. I will post back and add any other details that I can get hold of.

Have you checked that their number at the old address, which was some 4 miles away, no longer works?

They used to be at:
DAWSON NEWS LTD UNIT 37-38 GLEAMING WOOD DRIVE CHATHAM KENT ME5 8RZ

Talk about good detective work - have just literally tried what you have said and of course, when dialled, a recorded voice says:-

"The number dialled has been changed to 0845 389 3855"

So, there goes that!!! - any other suggestions, please?

They must have recently moved as their website still gives the Gleaming Wood Drive address and phone and fax numbers:

Yes, you're right...they must have moved recently. Their website still shows the Chatham details, and there are still no contact details for the new depot.

I have phoned their Head Office in Croydon, Surrey to complain about the change to the 0845 number, and also to ask for an alternative.....still waiting to hear back, though.

As soon as I hear, I will post back with any results.

Please feel free to suggest anything else that I can try.

Hi all

Have received a letter this morning from the team at Rochester regarding Business "T & C's".

At the top of this letter are their new contact details.

I have just checked these against the old Chatham branch contact details (they have moved from there)
and here's what I found:-

Chatham branch telephone number - 01634 662400
Chatham branch fax number - 01634 662425

Rochester branch telephone number - 0845 3893855
Rochester branch fax number - 01634 295101

Can anyone manage to guess the new telephone number from what I have said here, please?

I have noticed that the 01634 code has been retained except for the Rochester branch telephone number >:(

I have also just tried to ring 01634 893855 as per 0845 3893855, yet substituting the 08453 for 01634, and it just said "Number Unobtainable"

Any other ideas, please?

Going by that fax number I would try 01634 295100 as the phone number.

Thanks for your suggestion...I have just tried this, and the phone was picked up with the message:-

"Your call cannot be taken at the moment - please leave a message after the tone."

Any other ideas, please?

If that is Dawson's answering machine, then that may be the main number for that office. If it is, it is possible that the other numbers in that office are 01634 2951xx.

How does the 0845 number answer? If it has the same answerphone message, then you have got it.

Dawsons do not have an answering machine as I have just called the 0845 number - it was picked up by a woman who said "Dawsons".

Anything else that I can try, please?

Maybe the 0845 number routes to one of their other offices, possibly when they are unavailable at Rochester, as the answering machine might suggest (assuming it's Dawson's).  :-/
