My April & May telephone bills show multiple calls to this number made in the early hours of the morning.  Many calls were made while I was overseas and they all last for 7 seconfds.  Can anyone help throw any light on this?  >:(

Are you on dial up rather than Broadband? If so and if this your dial up number, your computer could be trying to to get on line....just a thought. :-/

Good suggestion, but no.  While I was away my PC, router etc were all switched off when these calls were logged, also I'm on broadband.  But thanks for the thought.

Sounds to me like a burglar alarm calling home to report its status and failing for some reason.

I think it's outrageous that these companies use revenue-generating numbers when (I'm sure) users are already paying for the alleged service.

BTW, 0871 200 numbers are charged (from a BT landline) at (surprise, surprise) 10p per minute at all times.  So each 7 second call probably cost you 16p (i.e. 6p connection + 10p for the first [incomplete] minute).
