As a newbie reading the various forums I have seen several references to the cost of Directory Enquiries, usually in unrelated posts.
I wonder if users realise they can get up to 10 free enquiries per day at www.118500.com which is a BT site. Open the page. Go to 'Online enquiries' at top left. Search for 'find a person' or find a business' searching is by Location or Postcode. |

Not sure why or where it says 10 enquiries per day only. AFAIK you search as many times as you want.
Go straight to www.thephonebook.com for BT Directory Enquiries or on a WAP phone wap.thephonebook.com. 118 directory enquiries numbers are a rip-off. You wouldn't pay Google every time you searched so why pay a DQ service? |

Quite right Dave. It doesn't say limit is 10 enquiries, but it used to! Probably academic anyway as most people unlikely to want more than one or two.
The more people know about the free enquiries the better, though I suppose BT will tumble to how much revenue they're losing and end the facility. |
