Title: DWP - State Pension Claim Number Post by hansi on Jul 14th, 2008 at 8:32am
The alternative number for 0845 300 1084 which is shown on the list as 0191 2186 012 will not accept claims on this geographical number. They asked me which number I rang and I was told to ring the 0845 number and choose option 2. So there doesn't appear to be a way to claim on a geographical number.

There are plenty of numbers to try, e.g; - 0800 991234/ 0191 2187777, Pension Enquiries. Go to this page http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php and put DWP into the Company Name search box, there is a wealth of numbers that come up, I am sure one of them will work. |

I don't think you can get a pension forecast by telephone. You have to fill a form in called 'BR19' which can be down loaded from here....
http://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk/resourcecentre/br19/home.asp I did this a few years ago and it came back pretty quickly, not the eight weeks that they said it would. It will probably be quicker ( & cheaper!) to do it this way. |

Hi Sherbert
They say you can fill in the form with them over the telephone. http://www.thepensionservice.gov.uk/resourcecentre/request-by-phone.asp I had a forecast sent to me totally out of the blue (didn't ask for one) Feb 2005 so decided to get an update as I'll be 60 in March. I'll likely just download the form & fill it in myself as I had planned to before seeing they'd do it with me on phone. Thanks. |
