Having a serious problem with a company from whom I have purchased a new car from.  The fact that they appear to be having financial problems appears to be one of the reasons they regularly change their 0871 number!

Company concerned is:

DC Cook
Fitzwilliam Road
Rotherham
South Yorkshire
S65 1ND  

All existing alternate numbers listed here and else where now appear to be unobtainable.

Their latest contact number from their website is 0871 288 5359 but I have drawn a blank on finding an alternative number.

If anyone here can help and point me in the right direction I would be most grateful.

The only other thread we have which is connected to DC Cook is for Virgin Cars Service Plus.

DC Cook went into receivership in 1999 and was resurrected in 2001 with his son and daughter. Derek Cook was killed in 2005 in whilst holidaying in Monaco.

In the database we have 01226 705650 /51 /52 etc which are now not recognised. These are Barnsley numbers which presumably were valid when it was at a previous location.

The Fitzwilliam Road, Rotherham address is in the 01709 STD code area. An unverified number of 01709 388600 has been submitted and it may be that direct numbers follow on; i.e. 01709 388601 /02 /03 etc.

Please try this number and provide feedback on whether it works or not so the relevant entries can be amended and so it will help others with the same query.

Unfortunately 01709 388600, 01226 705650, 01709 388600, 01226 705653, 55, 56,57,58,59,60 – are now all unobtainable.

I also have the Sheffield address of ‘Changing Gear’ on a recent letter but they do not give a telephone contact there only that of the DC Cook’s Rotherham office/show room which they give as 0870 606 4343 and that is yet another unobtainable!

From the thread you offered it was the Makro connection that was pertinent some time ago but I would imagine that is now finished.

Looks like that I’ll have to bite the bullet and use 0871 288 5359 Grrrrr……

0871 288 5359 answers exactly the same as 0114 270 9300. I have amended the database and removed the entry for Virgin Cars as it is no longer in business.

Just to confirm that 0114 270 9300 (as already noted) is good for DC Cook.

Good job too as they don't half run you ragged running up what they think is a nice tittle earner!

Whilst 0114 275 9634 is a legit Nr no one picked up in 5 mins so not sure of its use.

And can I add another purple heart or what ever the award is for a good search.  I had tried 192 and then went back to it after your response and still could not find what you did.  All I got for Changing Gear Ltd was a Barnsley address and that was another company altogether - strange though, two Ltd companies with the same name.

Incidentally, and this might not be the place to say it but anyone dealing with DC Cook should take extreme care!

Checked there website and found they had opted out of giving a registrant's address so I complained.. One has now been added and is the private address of David Cook! AFWIW.
