The Newcastle Airport numbers--both geographical and non-geographical--listed on the site are no longer valid. The current non-geographical number is 0871 882 1121. Does anyone know the geographical equivalent?

As per our instructions, you should really have included more details. How are the existing numbers invalid, and which numbers exactly are invalid?

Try 0191 214 3112 - this is listed as the "technical contact" for Newcastle Airport on their website WHOIS. I suggest trying it after opening hours and seeing what response you get. You could perhaps also try 0191 214 3121 and 0191 2143131 - if their 0871 match their 0191 number directly, these would seem the logical alternatives.

Please let us know how you get on.

The two numbers in the database are both not recognised:

Switchboard: 0191 2860980
Flight information (hold for customer services): 0191 2143334

This page says lost property is "0870 122 1488 ext 3367". Obviously the 0870 number has now been replaced with the 0871 one, but putting the extension number on the end of the 0191 214 prefix gets us through to airport security.

Quite a few web pages give 0191 286 0966 followed by extension number, but this is also not recognised.

The Newcastle Airport non-geographical number in both my local phonebook and this site's database is 0870 1221 488; the two geographical equivalents that were listed in this site's database, until my original posting about the matter, were 0191 214 3334 and 0191 286 0980: none of these numbers is any longer recognised. I will try those other numbers suggested and let you know how I got on.

I got through today - after some delay - on 0191 214 3305 thanks to your unverified database.  Feel quite chuffed ... :)

Thanks for posting your feedback on the forum; I've added this number to the verified entry.  :)

It's perhaps worth noting that it is given on Newcastle Airport's contact page for "Passengers of Restricted Mobility" enquiries.


Please post any further feedback on database entries (numbers not working that need removing, unverifieds that work and can therefore be verified etc) in the Requests section of the forum and I will make necessary changes.

Perhaps it's worth e-mailing them off the same link and pointing out calling an 0871 number from a mobile or internationally will cost considerably more then 8p per minute or may not be possible.

These companies are a nightmare...

In fairness I should add that I didn't gather exactly what dept I got through to on 0191 214 3305 - just that the gent who answered was able to confirm the airport's current policy on parking and pick-up charges (which may be different from info on flight arrivals etc).  Sounds like they are desperate for your donations!

It looks like all the alternative geographic numbers listed are now either "not compatible with the service" or otherwise not available - blocked.  Including the 0870. So much for a public service company where communications are vital. Has anyone found any other numbers?
