Title: Holidaybreak/Superbreak.com Post by doobiedoo on Sep 15th, 2008 at 4:18pm
I have used superbreaks.com for a few years, using its alternative number formnerly 01904679999 (based in York). However of late, the same has unobtainable tone, with message of change to "08712213366". Trouble is, when I last booked a hotel using the new number on my 02 Mobile; it cost for around 25 mins an amazing £8 !!!; i.e. 35 p per min.
I have asked Superbreaks for an alternative std number; but they say no :'( So, do I stop using Superbreaks or does anyone have an alternative number? Help please. ~ Edited by Dave: Thread title amended |

This is their fax No.....01904 652 592
In answer to your question stop using them. If everybody did they would soon get the message. |

The name is Superbreak.com rather than Superbreaks.com, although they have both domains.
A search of the database for superbreak reveals several entries which identifies it as part of Holidaybreak. A search of holidaybreak reveals more entries for the company, a number of which are 01904 ones. Please let us know which one deals with your query best. It is probable that they have switched from 0870 to 0871, as the contact page would suggest. Our database lists 0870 numbers for them. It is unlikely that the geographical numbers haven't changed, so look at the "Other Information" column to see what the number is for and let us know which is best so we can amend the entry with the 0871 number. |

Am seriously thinking of using other provider. Trouble is that superbreak seem to have some deal with the railway, which offers very cheap and flexible tickets when booked with a hotel. If anyone knows who else might offer the same, then I would look to that alternative.
Thanks for the advice re superbreak. I have looked through the database also for hotel break. All the 01904 numbers listed no longer work. Am still looking for an alternative to the new 0871 number? Thanks |

A check of numbers we have for Holidaybreak (and Summerbreak) reveals the following which have been disconnected and a give network redirection message to a 0871 number:
I don't believe that any of these numbers are (were) part of a block of direct dialling in numbers. The address given on the contact page as: Eboracum Way York YO31 7RE I believe that this is just out of the city centre off of Heworth Green where there is a lot of development going on which includes the building of many flats. This post code and Eboracum Way does even appear on the map yet. We are therefore looking for clues as to the block of numbers they are now using. |

Whois on superbreak.com/superbreaks.com shows

::) What a result team! The whois 01904 436043 number is answered by a receptionist, who, when asked to make a booking, says "Oh, am afraid this is the internet marketing section; but I will transfer you to the bookings section"; and she does!; and it won't cost £8 from my o2 mobile, as its a landline ;D
Thanks and please enter this number as the latest on the index database. Doobie Doo |

Following my post, I was about to amend it with the findings of the Whois but the site became inaccessible (again!). The recording when they are closed says that bookings can also be taken at superbreak.com. 01904 436000 also answers with the same recording, so perhaps they have a block of numbers in the 01904 436xxx range. |

Indeed, 01904 436001 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 or 9 goes straight to the Superbreak booking service, save the 09 is apparently intended to be via National Express ;) If you try 10 on the end it is answered by Alton Towers. Hence the block for superbreaks is 0190400 1 to 9 :)
Please enter these on the index. Thanks |

I have now amended most entries. :) Some remain with the old numbers. I have gone with the thinking that 01904 436001 to 009 will deal with most enquiries and so are suitable for most 0871 numbers. |
