Title: Coca-Cola Vending Machines
Post by bobito on Dec 3rd, 2008 at 10:33am
I am a group leader for english language students.
Outside Madam Tussauds NW1 5LR is a drinks vending machine ref.no. 2698*** which swallowed 1.60 pounds from a student without providing a drink. The telephone number to contact for refund is:

0871 384 1000

I can't find an alternative number.

Madame Tussauds staff say the machine is not theirs.

I have e-mailed Westminster Council Trading Standards with details.

A quick Google reveals the number is owned by Coca Cola. There is an alternative number for "Coca Cola" in the database.

A very quick Google ::) shows that this number belongs to Coca Cola who seem to be contracted to Didsbury Coffee Bar and here http://www.mmu.ac.uk/facilities/departments/catering-outlets/didsbury-coffee-bar.php you will see a geographical nunber and email address for the catering manager.

I hardly think ringing someone at MMU will help when it's nothing to do with them.

The Coke Vending contact page gives 0800 137 424 for service. It's a 24 hours number for customers to ring. I presume that's customers as in buildings which house these machines rather than customers of the machines themselves. Nevertheless, I would ring that.

Or you can just fill in the online form for a refund. Indeed, the form gives the 0800 number right at the bottom for contact rather than the premium 0871!

I've added an entry to the database with this 0800 number and a link to the form.

Thanks, I'll follow this up.

When I first googled 08713841000 I only got one hit at www.phonespamfilter.co.uk/phones.php/08713841, which didn't help.

Now I've tried googling 0871 384 1000 and have come up with 92000+ hits. I didn't know leaving spaces between the groups of numbers would make a difference.

Sorry guys.  :-/

Happy ending: Coke Vending at 0800 137 424 are sending a refund and it should be here before the students go back home. The operator also said that the cost of the telephone call to the 0871 number is refunded if requested. I did comment that in my opinion it would be better for the 0800 number to be put on the vending machine.

thanks for your help.
