This alternative number is quoted as being 01709 774001 but it rings unobtainable, does anyone know an alternative?

So is that still the switchboard for Maplin? If so, the customer service number has probably moved elsewhere in the range (002, 003, etc).

OK. According to the Maplin website, their customer service department shuts at 8pm, so if you were trying the 001 number after then, it probably wouldn't work. Please try it again before 8pm and let us know if it works.

At 19:00 hors tried the 01709774001 number, before the department closed at 20:00.
It still did not ring.
Went through the total range 001 to 009, only 002 rang but was not answered .

OK, thanks for that. Perhaps their customer service number has moved to 002? Did you manage to get through on their switchboard?

There is a menu on 01204 771180 which allows access to customer services, sales and storefinder.

Initially it redirects callers to 0870 429 6000 for "future reference" but proceeds to a menu.

Those 01709 774000 to 30 which ring are 02, 10, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 30. All others are unobtainable and there are probably others above 30.
