The number you found for Rail Choice works but they no longer do rail - two years and their web site is not updated! They tell me I now want International Rail at 0870 165 7300 and International Rail's web page tells me to call 08700 841410. Can you give me any further information?

All these are at the same address, Chase House. I've listed them because when we find one alternative number, it is likely that it will lead us to the others. The local dialling code is 01962.


I believe International Rail used to use 01962 772385 which is now also not recognised. It seems that they used to have a few 01962 77xxxx numbers which I don't think were part of a block.

The 0870 and 0871 numbers they now operate are allocated to Cable & Wireless and its subsidiaries Thus Plc and Energis. C&W has two allocations in this STD code: 01962 68 (09/2004) and 01962 70 (07/1994). There are none for Thus or Energis.

If you are contacting them about something you have already purchased, and they provide access by telephone for this, Regulation 41 of the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 require they provide an 01, 02 or 03 number for you to call.

Where telephone access is provided but you have to call an 084, 087 or 09 number, Regulation 41(2) gives you the right to a refund of the call costs incurred over and above whatever the call would have cost had it been made to an 01, 02 or 03 number.

The regulations came into force on 13 June 2014. Fill in their contact form and ask them to call you else provide you with a 'basic rate' telephone number to comply with the regulations.

You can also report the non-compliance to Trading Standards via the Citizen's Advice national Consumer Helpline on 0345 404 0506.

I've had a look at this one and found this existing thread for the company.

International Rail used to operate RailChoice ([url=www.railchoice.co.uk[/url]]www.railchoice.co.uk[/url]) but this address now redirects to the main International Rail one.

There was one verified entry in the database for RailChoice giving 0870 165 7300 => 020 8659 73**. This 020 number belongs to a company called Tech Access and I have no reason to think that it's in any way connected now.

There would appear to be two addresses for International Rail Limited: one is a physical address and the other is a PO Box:

PO Box 153, Alresford, SO24 4AQ

The first is as above (from 2009), so we may still be looking for a 01962 number.
