Ahem! Do you mean 'inclusive' rather than 'free'? What charges have they put up to cover their costs?
When BT did a similar thing back in April they increased their line rental to cover these costs. As other members have said, nothing in this life is 'free' |

I have been getting free calls to 0845 nos and 0870 numbers with my free inclusive calls package for months with Utility Warehouse. I save at least £20 a month by having the free inclusive calls and I can cut my bills each month by recommnding friends. I save approx £6 a month by having the 0845 calls & 0870 calls so I am really pleased with their services.

The two providers mentioned here are amongst the "BT clones", which essentially follow BTs perverse pricing structure and knock off bits here and there to provide savings.
In all cases they have long offered chargeable calls to ordinary landlines at higher rates than 0845, even though 0845 calls cost them more in termination fees. Adding them to packages essentially means that all customers are compelled to cover the cost of revenue sharing (whatever the price of the package may be), whether or not they call revenue sharing numbers. As more people on these type of tariffs move over to inclusive deals with 0845 calls included, it actually strengthens our argument against use of revenue sharing numbers as the number for whom 0845 calls are cheaper than ordinary calls diminishes. |

You are not making any free calls. You are making inclusive calls. What prices have they put up to cover these calls? See my reply #1 |

Yes they do, However if you take other services you can get free (or included if you prefer) calls 24/7 (including 0845 and 0870) with some global calls as well. If you take silver membership (£2.30 per month) you get free calls to customer service and tech support for broadband. It does'nt suit everyone but if you use the club effectivly you can save loads, and I hav'nt mentioned the Which? Magazine Best Buys yet, and a UK call centre |
