I am trying to call these people from France, unfortunately no 0844 numbers are accessible from France, including any France Telecom accounts.

The number on their site is : 0844 - 620 0070

Their office address is given as :

70 London Road
Twickenham

On their parent's site : www.worldstores.co.uk, another number is given : 020 8408 ****  however this is simply a telephone message telling you to use the 0844 number.

In their terms and conditions, their registered company number is given as : 03909772

Can anyone find a UK landline number that does not start 08 ?

They seem rather unwilling to accept that their lovely money-making number is completely useless outside the UK, and I need to speak to someone by phone.  Bit of a pain really.

Thanks for the feedback. I've added an entry for WorldStores with this number and a second one for BedroomFurnitureWorld and its 0844 number.

This 020 number may be a suitable alternative for other WorldStores online stores.

Incidently, there is a single entry in BT Phonebook for this company: 020 8892 7153

Also, there are other submissions that suggest other 020 8408 12xx numbers, so perhaps this is the place to look....

WorldStores' website is www.worldstores.co.uk and it shows that operates over 50 online shops. For this reason I have joined it on to the existing thread for this company.

A search of the database for worldstores returns a number of entries for different WorldStores websites which give 020 8408 **** or 020 8892 ****, which were also mentioned above.

Please let us know what you try, what works and what doesn't so I can list a suitable alternative. The 020 8408 **** is listed for most websites in our database, so I suggest you try that one first.  :)

I have added an entry for OfficeSupermarket with the alternative 020 8408 ****. As the other entries have **** or **** against them, I have put a note to also try them and vice versa for other entries.

It may be that different numbers will get answered at different times depending on where abouts in the office the staff are.

I can't find any address or postcode anywhere on the web for this company.
If anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful.

Sheds Direct are part of World Stores, a search on Nominet (the UK registrar for Domain Names) gave an address in Twickenham, I googled that address with Word Stores and came up with: http://www.venturematch.co.uk/contact_us.html

There is a contact number at the same address, so I would suggest starting there.

Out of interest where does the other number get through to?

I have joined your thread to the existing one for WorldStores which, as CJT-80 says, ShedsWorld is a part.

I have also removed an unverified entry with number 020 8408 **** apparently for a WorldStores outlet. I haven't tested it, but I post it here for the record; someone may wish to try it although it is perhaps worth noting that it is one digit after the number DM_Roberts says that isn't for this company.

Used this number successfully on 8th Feb.

btw a search on 08446200060 does not work as the number is recorded in the database minus the prefix, is this right?

Thanks for letting us know,

When you rang the 020 number were you given a menu to select the department? I just called it and there is no menu or answer. I therefore assume it's for Customer Service's which closes at 5pm.

I will promote it to Verified once we have established which department it is for, unless Dave is happy to have it promoted.

This is connected with a company that we've looked at before; it runs quite a number of websites. I seem to recall that the number we had wasn't a suitable alternative. I will see what I can find.

I believe it was straight through to a customer service person.  I was querying a delivery due that day and they were able to check the details and confirm the item was out for delivery.  The call was made about 11am which would fit in with it being a 9 - 5 number.
