The number 01422 333333 which is given as alternative for 08457 263646 gets 'number not recognised'. Has anyone got a new number?

Indeed. I was about to suggest this as it has a menu on for various types of HBOS enquiries. It is probably suitable for most, if not all, types of enquiries.

If you put the 0845 number into the search box, it returns this number and others.

I have found the unverified number 0113 285 1888 and this is correct. Should this number be elevated to the main database?

This 01422 333333 was only listed in one entry and I've removed it now.

0113 285 1888 is in fact the Online helpdesk menu which is the same as 0845 602 0000 which is listed on Halifax's contact page. This menu has an option for other enquiries, so it is an alternative for the 0845 726 3646 number which is for savings.

However, I have removed the unverified entry because there is a verified one giving 0113 380 9574 which has a menu which accesses the same menu as the 0845 number (as does 0113 285 1888).

The most important thing we ask is that users provide feedback on numbers. Let us know when numbers don't work, numbers that are unverified and can be verified are numbers that have changed etc.

The most effective way to do this is to post in the Geographical Requests section. Also say why a number doesn't work, eg not recognised, rings unanswered, always busy, or wrong department and they won't transfer etc.

Also, please, when you post a non-geographical number say what it's for! I had to call the 0845 number to find out what its purpose is.

The "overseas" number, 0113 380 9574, is now answered with a recording which redirects to 0113 242 2229. I have now changed all references to it in the database.
